I've been day trading stonks for over 2 years, only to lose money over time. I generally make nice gains for 3 to 25 days, then proceed to lose everything and then some in a frenzy of overtrading. Have I been fooling myself thinking that I could make it this way?

Why you do not withdraw half of you profit every time you close position?

I am obsessed with compounding as fast as possible, but that may be a solution to check my excitation. Thanks anon

You are gambling, but what you're doing is like a roullette wheel. You will only lose more once we hit the bear market.

Read books. It will take 4-5 years to start to understand and apply the concepts in the trading books.

Do you mean during the downfall or when a bear bottom sets in? I have read many trading books, but none have taught me to control my frustration when I find myself in a losing trade. Do you have any recommendation?

Keep a diary of feels & behaviour.
Identify where and when you lose control.
