Haven’t NFT’s from a conceptual standpoint existed on platforms like Habbo Hotel, Runescape, World of Warcraft, and Second Life for quite some time now?

Not an exact 1:1 given the fact they weren’t immutable (staff intervention) or finite because of duplication glitches, bugs, minted database side, via staff commands, etc but items can retain a stable fiat value.

nfts are the new icos. what were icos are now actually usable projects on ethereum, like uniswap, or maker. the imaginary speculative only projects that icos were have now morphed into something even less valuable. no longer being tied to some actual project or work that might happen in the future, its now some tokenized URL linking to an image by some pajeet, with no future value.

nfts, like icos, and most altcoins, are the pets.com of the crypto boom

Icos became defis which is Bitconnect with extra steps.

At least nfts can be unique collectables like pokemon cards. Or more importantly they can be tied to real world assets. On its face not really something inherently speculative. Like a title to a car. Having a tokenized title is fine, but having millions of tokens that represent that title that autists gamble on is peak retard. Collectables do have a speculative effect however, but again it's not a fungible asset.

>> No.29588843

>>29588488
they're not unique, they're digital, infinite, like altcoins/icos/tokens. tying them to real-world assets is novel, but isn't used, because property laws obviate any on-chain ownership. defi is mostly speculation, but has something to show for itself, a group of arrange pixels that aren't even on the blockchain itself, only linked to, is not valuable, especially not anything launching today. maybe cryptokitties have some historical value, none of the derivative shit today will though.

Defi is literal ponzis.

If someone creates something onchain with specific parameters then there is no copying it exactly. Sure you could run something in parallel, but it isn't the same and its provable. Thus its unique. As unique as a particular run of pokemon cards. The issuer could change things, but the changes would be visible and possibly illegal depending on the context. For example a government worker issuing titles and deeds to people they don't belong to and then there is an open evidence trail.
