Given how art and collectibles are selling for hundreds of eth, grabbing these before they're hot seems like a good way to make it. Anyone have cryptopunks or hashmasks?

Have you guys seen what Pankcakeswap is doing with NFTs? They're using them to gamify the DeFi farming experience. Earn them as rewards for quests, achievements, etc. They'll have use as farming multipliers and if they're only minted to say the team that supplies the most liquidity to a specific token pair under a specific time, it creates a healthy trading market. Because you're forced to pick a team, you'll probably have to trade or buy NFTs with the other teams if you want to complete your collection or get a specific card with your desired multiplier. You can set your NFTs as your avatar so even in terms of cosmetics they've got the concept down. You even get to pick a gamertag so people can see your profile.

I'm really excited for this. I think we've never had a NFT trading eco-system backed by something people already do in crypto.

It costs a fuck ton to mint. Sadly I was in a community call with the rarible team a few weeks ago and they said that they would need a DAO proposal + a connection to someone who can code to move to a L2. I was also disappointed when I learned that there had been no progress on staking. So L2 is not coming for a loooong time. Also the CEO like the idea of moving to flow.

Dude, transactions legit take about 10 seconds on average and cost like 16 cents. The problem NFTs on ETH has is that ETH fees are killing their innovation. Imagine having to mint and airdrop NFTs to thousands of wallets as a reward for a quest on fucking ETH. There's no way the devs could reasonably recuperate the minting and migration fees. SpaceSwap is doing something similar but you have to BUY their NFTs for like $3k each because they're still on ETH. Pankcakeswap literally just airdropped a few NFTs already to anyone who made a profile on their site.

Here's their roadmap.

$NFTX is working on making NFT's liquid. You provide liquidity by exchanging your NFT (ERC-721) for an erc-20 token. You can then trade that token back for a random NFT of the same kind at any time. More liquidity = numbers go up. For example there's a hashmask pool and a cryptopunk pool.
