Holding stocks is the same as buying them every day. If you wouldn't buy it, don't hold it. On the flipside, if it went down, but you know it has a ton of potential and would buy the dip, just keep on holding it. This prevents the "buy high sell low" effect.

90% of the people here think that the as long as they don't go below cost basis, they are OK. This is BS. The cost basis doesn't mean anything. The avg buy price doesn't mean anything. Lost potential profits are lost profits. Opportunity cost is cost.
Looking at cost basis is only good for reevaluating past strategies.

I think this is a common thing when people first get into investing - they're looking for "THE DIP" or "THE RECESSION" that obviously means buy all the stock you can and some of the people who think they're really smart (like me, and I guess you) try to buy puts as if they know better than normal people. I currently hold NUMI and MMEDF. They are volatile, true, but I wouldn´t compare them directly to weed stocks. I don´t see them legalized widely for recreational use any time soon. The companies have a long way to go in terms of research and reaching public acceptance as a new drug. Shrooms and MDMA aren´t something you can give patients off the shelf, frankly. I still see them as fairly valued at this point, a risky play but huge potential in the coming years.

Shrooms are definitely not weed stock equivalents. You're investing more into a new line of depression medication than into a drug, of which the legality of it is still heavily in question. Florida has a bill on the table regarding legality for treatments, and California is steadily getting there - once California does it, the sky is the limit on how much you'll get. But I sold the top of MMEDF, am very happy I did it, and I'm not super interested in buying back in until I see a good price.
