Sounds to me like you never were, you spent this whole time waiting for vindication and now that it amounted to nothing you're depressed over it. You've done well, and yet you're beating yourself up because you expected some recognition that's never coming because truth is, those people don't thin about you nearly as much as you obsesses about them.
If anything you need to let go of your past ego that made you think it was a big deal in the first place. The ego needs to hear "you were right".
You were smart enough to see the potential in this market and capitalize on it, so use that intelligence to put the interactions you had with those people into perspective, and ascribe them the correct amount of weight, which is very little, if any, in the grand scheme of things.
Their approval is meaningless seeing as how circumstances have already proven that you were right.
