Last week i started visiting my local food bank. I got this all for free, and I turned down quite a bit of food that I don't like, so I could have gotten more. I will eat the fresh stuff and start stashing the canned and dried stuff in a storage locker to trade for sexual favors down the road. I'm allowed to get this much every single week from the food bank I visited. I live in canada so obviously this in over 2000$ worth of food.

Think GFC but worse.

Everything is pegged to the dollar. Europe & other western nations buy US debt by the boatloads, US defaulting on the debt would be the death of the dollar, and bad for western economies as a result since it's an incestuous relationship. Would give more power to other players.
On the other hand, low yields means money HAS to bet on high volatility assets like stocks to get a decent rate of return, otherwise you're literally paying the government to hold your money.

It's a delicate balance and the only two options is kick the can down the road or massive crash looming soon. Guess which one they'll choose.

I wonder what things will look like when the FED balance sheet hits 60% of GDP.

Everything is overpriced. In the 80s you had the collapse of International investments because they got overpriced, in the 00s the dot com bubble cause by overvaluing of internet stocks like they were gold prices, in 08 mortgage securities but now you're approaching a situation where absolutely everything is overinflated. Normally people would put their money in bonds in times of extreme uncertainty but bonds are paying nothing so you end up in a situation where nothing makes sense to buy.

I firmly believe that commodities, in particular precious metals are the only safe haven, and probably even the only sensible investment class right now.

Usually, bubbles happen in one asset class at a time. 1980 - 2000 it was stocks; bit of overlap with real estate, but the bubble that popped in 2007/2008 was caused by bad loans which were given out like candy to every warm body, thus increasing the prices exponentially.

Now we're in a situation where so much money has been printed and so much government/FED intervention has been pumped into the economy to keep it from stalling, that a single domino falling could take down every major asset class at the same time.

This is the interest rate that the treasury is offering in order to get boomers and foreigners to lend it money.
Treasury Bills (tbills) compete with gold for the market for a safe stable place to park capital.
When tbills are offered at a higher yeild it makes them more attractive to investors.
So it can be bearish for gold, and by extension all precious metals, since other PMs follow gold to an extent.
Alternatively one can imagine that the treasury is offering higher yield because the treasury feels that it HAS TO offer higher yield inorder to attract investors.
Which could be a sign of dollar weakness and an expectation of future inflation or treasury default risk.
Which could be considered bullish for precious metals.
You decide.

I point this out to people too.

Crypto is a death sentence for storing wealth and is akin to running down a blocked off exit in a burning down building. You will dump real capital into it, but by the time you try to exit crypto you will find that hard assets are all bought up and will not be traded for cash. Hundreds of trillions of dollars worth of value is going to be torched. Our pensions are broke, our insurance companies are broke, social security is broke. We are all going to be hurting and everyone will be trying to get out of harms way as value evaporates. And certain assets are going to hurt a hell of a lot more than others.

Correct.

An economic crisis always squashes the middle class the worst. The pauper who bought overpriced homes in the 00s that they couldn't pay for just fucked off and let the banks take their homes, they didn't lose anything.

People who saved up their money and bought houses during the bubble saw their largest source of net worth go down by 50-60%, and still kept paying their overpriced mortgages even though they were underwater were the ones who were truly fucked. Some held on long enough to get back to their original price, but many years later.

Tin, the Chad of base metals, is now $25,290.00 per metric ton.
Pewter, an often overlooked material, is 92+% Tin, and I've seen purity as high as 97%. Nice cheapie sterling isn't super common so when out hunting I always look for pewter too, got this 1 lb vase for $1 today.

If silver moons and the quality of my local FWTDHWATQUDs isn't up to snuff, I'm keeping my mercs and paying them in snipped-off chunks of pewter scrap instead.

Yeah, thinking about it that way will probably bring you to the correct conclusion but I think its actually slightly more complicated. The Treasury itself doesn't determine the interest rates. Dealers buy the bonds and bills at auctions, so initially they just go to the highest bidder. I think its actually the "market" that determines the prices of bonds, just like it does in the stock market. But I say "market" because at this point it is heavily dominated by the Federal Reserve buying the bonds from the dealers. So its really just semantics but technically its the Fed, not the Treasury that is determining the interest rates. Rates rising means that the actual market is dumping bonds so fast that the Fed isn't buying them fast enough to keep the prices where they want them, even though the Fed is buying even more bonds than are being issued.

If you live in America you can’t buy Cuban cigars because of the embargo. If you have a local cigar shop they’d be the best place to get information. If you don’t, just go to famous-smokes.com and buy the Montecristo 10 cigar sampler, a cigar cutter, and a butane lighter, cigar matches, or cedar spills. Hello frens I will be needing your advice in these frantic times.
Before pulling the trigger on a $1000 order (to meet tax free for my state) through an online dealer telling me I may or not get my shit within a month or more I, figured I would check with a semi local LCS just in case he has something worth getting instantly. He currently is offering
>two dozen mixed lot of ASE's and leafs $33 usd/each
>non culled Morgans and Peace dollars for $30 each
I told him I would get the rounds from him whether we can get to $1000 or not with junk sales and he hasn't responded.
I am hesitant to pay that much of a premium for the silver dollars because most of them still have a shitload worn away, are they worth it for getting it tomorrow and all tax free?
Current stack for comparison help a newfag out boys thanks.
