>What is Litecoin?
https://litecoin.org/

Litecoin (LTC) is an open source peer-to-peer Internet currency that enables instant, near-zero cost payments to anyone in the world. With substantial industry support, trade volume and liquidity, Litecoin is a proven medium of commerce complementary to Bitcoin (BTC)

>How is Litecoin different to Bitcoin?
https://litecoin.info/index.php/Comparison_between_Litecoin_and_Bitcoin

One way to view Litecoin is as silver to Bitcoin's gold, in that it is a relatively less valuable cryptocurrency that is easier to obtain and transact with

Litecoin uses scrypt instead of SHA256 for proof of work
Transactions are 4 times faster than with Bitcoin
Total amount of LTC is 4 times the total amount of BTC

>Why invest in Litecoin?
https://litecoin-foundation.org/the-case-for-litecoin/

Litecoin, one of the oldest cryptocurrencies, has proven itself a reliable and secure money with the advantages of name-recognition and high liquidity (available on almost all exchanges), consistently ranking in the top 4 in trading volume. It’s also the second most available coin in cryptocurrency ATM’s. Bitcoin continues to be the ‘gold standard’, but Litecoin has proven itself the silver to Bitcoin’s gold. According to Coinbase’s metrics, Litecoin’s price is 98% correlated to Bitcoin’s

I'd actually like to see it do something. Bought a little a few weeks ago and took a small profit during the week.
A 60 year old guy I work with who owns no crypto actually brought up Litecoin in conversation with me a few times over the past month.
It's a little discouraging that even when the general public are aware of the product that it still does nothing.
Got seriously burned by fomo'ing in Dec 2017 when Charlie kept tweeting about a "big announcement" while the web was lit up with rumours of an LTC-Facebook partnership.
Charlie dumped all of his coins with some excuse about conflict of interest and the big announcement never came.
Like I said in my other post, I like Litecoin, but it's not performing for some reason.

the meme is alive

>it's not performing for some reason.
i think this can be explained in part by supply side factors. Litecoin is one halving cycle behind Bitcoin, so it's block reward is now 12.5, relative to Bitcoin's 6.25. so inflation is currently double, which dilutes price. this on top of extant supply imbalance (66+ million vs 18+ million)

obviously the comparison doesn't hold against coins other than BTC, nor should it. different purpose altogether

Bitcoin institutional accumulation has far outpaced the same in Litecoin, though this is growing, and BTC runs the risk of going "offerless" if the bull run continues its frenetic pace. see Willy Woo's analysis. many many Bitcoin will not return to market for a long long time:

Litecoin is not a good investment for retirement. Near the end of the bitcoin cycle you can get some decent returns out of it but I wouldn't invest in it for the long term as it has been in decline ever since that chink sold all his litecorns. Right now $250k worth would likely be the minimum if you are looking at 1M.

I would wait for bitcoin to fall all the way back down to its 200 week moving average. Then go on coin market cap look at all the coins you missed or got great returns out of this cycle and buy them up cheap.
BTC, BNB, ATOM, GRT, LINK, DOT, ADA, KSM, BAND should be safe bets and get you a 10x next cycle.

>well you never know
It's Monday. You rarely see breakout pumps on Mondays, that's more of a Fri/Sat thing. It's true that hindsight's a bitch and a whore but I'm beginning to think I really should just risk a swing when this goes back up, because most of my dollar-power seems to be in the $210 area, even with my DCAing at $192 and $215. I might miss a breakthrough, but I might also buy myself some peace of mind.

to illustrate further, my expectation is we won't bridge the central quintile gap this evening (the span between 0.4 and 0.6 retracements). weak hands were spooked today, more need to be shaken out

the wick off $201 indicates a strong accumulation commitment just above $200, expect that to be revisited thru tomorrow before selling pressure is exhausted and recovery can resume

Somewhere between 800 and 5000. What am I a prophet?

Most spikes with the LTCBTC ratio seem to occur roughly at 0.02 btc. At this exact moment that would put it at $968. Assuming bitcoin will roughly triple by the end of the year, that would be $2,904 dollars. That seems pretty realistic to me.

Ltc has appeal factor for it, there’s plenty of reasons why it should be valued but whether it is or not is all that matters. There were plenty of great products that were shelved for a lesser product because investors never latched onto the superior product. Expansion is the most important aspect of a product, you could make the best fucking chili on planet earth but if you don’t find a following to advertise and preach that evangel you’re going to be the only one that knows it.
