I figured this would be a good place to ask, I have applied fora job that requires a pretty intense background check.
I was wondering if information such as
>frequently visits 4chan
>watches lots of porn
would things like this appear on a background check?

also
>racist youtube comments

Is this the wrong place to ask? I just figured /biz/ was full of successful business owners that conduct background checks all the time

background check only checks court records and public record information; possibly a credit check as well.

you dont have anything to worry about unless you're applying to Federal intelligence agencies- those mother fuckers know your life in and out before you even step foot into the first interview.

You're fine, OP. If they disqualified employees by those criteria, no one would have a job as everyone does those things.

Also this: >>2878898

Also, your best bet is to just give it a shot. None of those things you mentioned are incriminating.

No of course not! However, if someone dug a little bit they would find an email with my real name attached to my troll youtube account etc.

My friend tried to get into intelligence in the Air Force. They found out he browsed 4chan and he's been in Levenworth ever since.

depends on the position you're interested in. is there a polygraph also? they do have "access" to your full internet history, but sifting through that is expensive. whether or not they want to spend lots of shekels investigating you depends on how sensitive your position will be.

Yes a polygraph test is required, don't I have to give consent for that kind of thing?

wow you are a dumb nigger. i clearly wasted my time responding to you. that's right, just tell them you refuse to take the polygraph and they'll just hire you on the spot.

yeah, with me what happened is that I logged into my bank account using their app while my phone was logged as my troll account, which the e-mail is something like "killfaggotsnao@protonmail.com", when I went to the bank talk to the manager I saw on his screen that my e-mail was filled as that. He didn't say a word and neither did I.

>> No.2879033

>>2879002
Should have been clearer, I meant that I'm surprised that my internet history is available to them just like that.

>> No.2879035

>>2878964
I don't know what kind of job you are getting into, but as far as police work goes, a polygraph is more to see if you are honest then find out things about you. They may ask you fucked up questions like, "Anon, have you ever felt sexual attraction to an underage, same-sex member of your family?". They don't really care what the answer is, more so that you would answer honestly.

>> No.2879050

>>2879035
My fear is the polygraph goes something like
>So anon, you ever use racial slurs on the internet? Or pirate 45 gigs of hentai?

>> No.2879068

>>2879033
i just said it's not available, "just like that". it depends entirely on the agency and position, because it's expensive and only certain agencies are allowed access to that information.

>> No.2879071

>>2879050
Then you answer truthfully. As nerve wracking as it is lol, I know

>> No.2879073

>>2878964
So they gonna ask you about 4chan and porn? What kind of company is it OP?

>> No.2879086

>>2879050
you fill out a background investigation packet full of questions. the ploy administrator asks questions from that plus some surprise questions. there are different levels of polygraphs, the bottom tier ones don't get personal; like how often you whack off or if you wear your granny's panties. they're mainly interested in things you've done in your past like stealing things from work, history of domestic violence or if you sold drugs
