At least three confirmed cases of double spendings. The devs are trying to hide it from the official explorer.

I dont' want to cause mass shock to those of you who are holding avax, but this is the worst case scenario you can get with all these technical problems. One minor issue leads to another kind of a snowball effect until you get to a point where you can't contain the enormous amount of shit spiraling out of control.

This is real bad and I'm not one to scare monger but I've been programming for ten + years and this is more than the Avax team can handle at this point. The fact that the team is trying to silence anyone bringing this issue up says volume as to the team's credibility. It might be a day or two premature but I'm confident enough to say this do to my vast amount of knowledge and experience on the matter - this is over and the project is on its last legs

Cap this shit if you don't believe me but you'll be seeing a lot of angry avax investors in the coming days

kek, now they're all going "NOOOOO IT WASN'T A DOUBLE SPEND!!!". Sure, it wasn't, but that doesn't change the fact that a select few were able to fucking create AVAX out of thin air that the devs then had to cancel out by burning the equivalent amount. It's by all intents and purposes in the same category as a double spend.

It wasn't a significant amount, but only because someone malicious didn't find it before it happened in the wild. It doesn't exactly instill a lot of confidence in the project. And with all the new eyes on the project, I can't help but feel like a lot of black hat hackers are going to be playing around with the blockchain.

But eh, whatever, people will probably turn a blind eye on this. It is, however, a massive red flag and I'll probably sit on the sidelines for now.

You clearly never programmed in your life. When there is a bug you don't instantly know what is causing it, and if the client keeps asking you can't just say "dunno wait a min" so they did some testing, saw that the blockchain was working properly and then said what they thought what most likely caused the bug. Now get got all the info necessary and finally said how things really were, they admitted their fault, solved the issue. I don't think this particular exploit could have been replicated. The 57 transactions resulted from the same non-deterministic bug which had been patched by the majority of nodes by the time this was realized. This was a pre-patch relic that coincided exactly with the network suspension so I doubt anyone could have abused after transactions resumed following the node updates.

Either way I'm fine with not becoming the biggest supervillain in crypto history.
