The fact that the team is trying to silence anyone bringing this issue up says volume as to the team's credibility. The 57 transactions resulted from the same non-deterministic bug which had been patched by the majority of nodes by the time this was realized. This was a pre-patch relic that coincided exactly with the network suspension so I doubt anyone could have abused after transactions resumed following the node updates.
