I bought $150 of BTC in Spring 2017 and it's now worth about $3000 or so.

I put 40k into link in 2017. Then I sold it within weeks and lost most of it swing trading shitcoins. I finally gave up defeated with 4k left, which I put into ETH. Came back a few weeks ago and it was back to 40k. Now it's about 120k. Could be worse I guess.

When I made my glorious return to /biz/ in 2020 I quickly learned 2 things- shitcoins (99% of ""defi"") are stupid and you shouldn't buy shit like Yfox, Rot, CORE, ROPE, CLV etc. just to chase pumps on usecaseless garbage which exists purely as a casino.

And the second is to just hodl through the dips, because BTC will go back up on the longest run. If I sell it'll be after a 100x and I have a million networth and can focus on building an online business/ammo business/writing career/astrophysic degree without worrying about things while working part time and trading platinum coins and semiconductor stocks.

Put in $15k in late 2017, now worth $4k. It the highest point I was at $100k. I put most of it into some shitcoin ICOs that were hyped on here. Long story short - most of them lost 90% or even more of their value and if I hadn't pulled out I would probably be at $500 now.

Basically, I fell for the HODL meme. While you should've just held, I should've just sold. It sucks, and everyone who thinks they're some kind of investing genius needs to realize that they just gambled and won.

Well, life went on and to make a long story short, brother committed suicide, my psycho la creatura ex tried to have me jailed for abuse after I dumped her, I lost my job while in the process of moving, and had thousands in bills to come up with FAST. Life was just terrible at the time. So I sold it. All of it. Cryoto was in a slump and I’m still not sure if I lost faith, or just forgot as new things entered my life.

A lot of mistakes are made by 100% dumps. If you think something is going 2x,3x, or 5x, when you buy it - immediately put in a sell limit order worth your principal(+20% if you want to gain more liquidity) but at the new coins 2x, or 3x or 5x price.

So that way when your price hits, you get your liquidity back and dump it into another coin

Old fag here. I was mining doge and shit in 2014. Ive been in crypto for a while and all i have for it is like 4,000 profit. I lost money on exchanges like 4 times. Feels bad man.

I first put $10k into crypto in july '17
Was actually down $5k in auguest, said fuck this shit is a scam and forgot about crypto
Checked back in dec and was up to $40k, took that, put in $10k more and YOLOed on some alts
a month later mid-jan '18 was up to $180k. Luckily cashed out $60k right before the crash.
During the crash I went ride or die, millionaire or bust and just held that shit down to $30k, then actually bounced back to $90k and just kept hodling before it crashed again and I lost interest. I got too fucking greedy and told myself if it ever mooned again to break even i'd just sell.
I remember checking at one point during the crypto winter and being at like $10-20k or something and feeling sick.
I moved it into mostly BTC and ETH (when eth was <$100), and now I'm back with $350k. Not selling this time until I get to a million.
