>>28441803Damn, third thread today.
>>28441918I repeated this until it became 90% of my portfolio. Nothing else compares to its performance.
Disney's estimated earning was -$0.41 per share and apparently they reported +$0.32 per share.I think when the hype around the pandemic fades away, I wouldn't be surprised if their market cap jumped to around 450B within a year and half.DIS and ABNB are great to look into for post pandemic plays in my opinion desu

I really should know better than to hold anything through earnings. Why do I never learn.
>>28442099Checked.Really I'm looking at a few variables to be present post pandemic to fuel such a large market cap growth. It's a combination of these variables going back to pre-pandemic levels or, in the case of their streaming platforms, continue to grow:>streaming platforms (DIsney+ Hulu+) must continue to retain subscription/grow>their parks reopening >there to be a way for films to make massive amounts of money again, whether the theaters are there or notIf those factors are present, I think they'll have a lot of room for growth within two years of everything returning.Don't forget that Disney owns ABC, Hulu, ESPN, and a bunch of other IPs. As far as streaming services go, I think in the long term their streaming services will be viewed by normies as far better than Netflix too. Which who knows how that will effect things. Just something I've been thinking about with DIS too.
>>28442880>if they shift focus fasthow long has this been the reality for intel kek>>28442804yeah if you sold at open today and bought at close that would've been ideal. >>28442953I got pleasantly surprised by Activision's earnings recently. They did well and presented during aftermarket, shot up $10 while I was sleeping.

>>28443018I definitely buy the streaming services growing with the mandalorian spinoffs and more coming to the platform, along with inevitable future price raises. but I think the theme parks will be the slowest recovering thing from this whole pandemic. slower than airlines, slower than sports leagues, definitely. It's going to be a long, long time before those are reopened and the risk of setbacks for them is huge. if they do open they'll be a fraction profitable of what they were and it'll hardly move the meter.>ways for films to be profitable againI think they can remedy this even without the theaters coming back in full. also murmurs of them doing *another* star wars trilogy to retcon the previous one. SW is still their hot new cash cow and it will be for a long time.>ABCis ABC worth a shit anymore? >HuluI like it but it's a clear 2nd option for streaming services. need to convince people to pay for it as well as D+ on top of the other ones.>ESPNfucking hemorrhaging money this last year and spending hundreds of millions on SEC broadcasting rights among other things. I think they're the clear loser in that deal as TV viewership for the sport has declined very noticeably, even before the pandemic. Same goes for the NFL even. Keep in mind the older audience for these sports as well. I know ESPN+ is being forced hard but I don't know how much it's succeeded quite frankly.>I think in the long term their streaming services will be viewed by normies as far better than Netflix tootheir original series would have to drastically, drastically improve for this to happen. To the anon that shared this video in the last thread, thank you. It was surprisingly hilarious and made a lot of great suggestions which are based on fundamentals and facts as they are in the moment. >>28449302It's been a while since I saw that video. It's mostly applicable, but you have to keep in mind that it was made in 1994. Things have sped up considerably since then, and people are way more informed. As opposed to long investing, nowadays you are better off with "well informed swings", where you wait for a catalyst and don't panic sell on a dip unless it is your catalyst that's in danger. And you can get the insider info (I think he uses a steel mill as an example) from the internet if you look for it. Search for posts of actual professionals (e.g. MDs if you're researching biomemes), and you can be as well informed as an insider, and have an edge on the market.
>>28449551Political polling is objectively dead and has been for years, anything else is Nate Bismuth copium and journalists clinning to relevance. If you base your investing decisions on bad data, you'll make bad decisions.
So you guys are telling me the weed stocks were a pump and dump? What the fuck? It legit has good fundamentals but you chinks only buy based on current trends?
>>28444121A lot of great points in here anon.ABC is really only relevant in my mind because they allow streaming for The Office and Parks and Recs, which is the normie required watching duo at this point. Honestly, not enough on its own but collectively with D+ and other programs/channels Hulu+ offers, it could give them the opportunity to get a leg up on the competition for cable cutter market share. Hulu+ also offers live TV and I think as conventional cable/satellite continues to fall they'll start eating up more of the cable cutters with their bundling package of Hulu+ & Din. But you're right, it's the clear second choice to both Netflix and YouTube TV. And I don't see that changing for a while.Although they know how to make money off their IP like crazy, unlike Netflix.>ESPNYeah, I never watched sports unless Thomas Brady is making people seethe in the Super Bowel or my dad wants to watch a game. >>28459740>Would those American companies immediately apply for NASDAQ listing? What would happen there?Yes, that's what happened with Canadian companies when Trudeau turned out to be sincere in his 2015 campaign promise to legalize. All listed on the TSXV or CSE to start, the larger ones moved up to the TSX and dual listed on the Nasdaq or NYSE. Multi-state US based dudes weed also listed on Canadian exchanges as they could no legally do so on US ones unless/until the federal laws changed. They could, however, trade through OTC. Canadian companies can list on US exchanges because weed is legal in Canada. US companies operating in legal states cannot list because weed is still federally illegal. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense but that's how it happened to play out. If weed is made federally legal in the US you can expect the US weed stocks to have a bubble phase, same as happened with the Canadian ones.

Looks like nuclear energy is making a slow but sure comeback in the long run- assisted by the promise of small modular reactors, and the growing realization that renewables alone will not cover all energy needs if we want to get off fossil fuels, and US government moving into action to stop Russia/Canada/Australia/Kazakhstan cucking our domestic Uranium miners, restarting the only domestic uranium ore conversion facility and moving forward on establishing the first ever US Uranium reserve-Positive public perception is gaining momentum too-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jzfpyo-q-RM (positive video despite the clickbait)https://www.wsj.com/articles/only-nuclear-energy-can-save-the-planet-11547225861?mod=article_inlinehttps://www.forbes.com/sites/michaelshellenberger/2018/09/11/had-they-bet-on-nuclear-not-renewables-germany-california-would-already-have-100-clean-power/?sh=344a05d1e0d4https://twitter.com/michaeljburry/status/1359915892272816128https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2021/01/14/2021-01013/promoting-small-modular-reactors-for-national-defense-and-space-explorationhttps://world-nuclear-news.org/Articles/Senate-committee-includes-uranium-reserve-in-FY202Nuclear sector slowly making moves-https://world-nuclear-news.org/Articles/Idled-US-conversion-plant-preparing-for-restarthttps://seekingalpha.com/news/3660549-uranium-stocks-surge-after-camecos-q4-beat-upbeat-outlookNot sure if uranium imports are banned yet but once they are expect the US uranium mining industry to surge. >>28473779Modular reactors are a very speculative thing right nowWhat real advantages would they have over big reactors? The only one I see is the possibility of passive emergency cooling. But that will also reduce their efficiency because heat will leak out during normal operation too.And they are arguably less safe than monolithic reactors because as there isn't a containment building you can just bomb them and spread radiation everywhere.
