Yo /biz/
Im just starting to get into crypto. Made my first 2x profit on doge, and have had some money into btc for a second now.

Trading and holding is fun, but I am a developer by trade.
Curious about common applications of development work within crypto. And where I should start.

Is it all just making stupid transfer, tumble, exchange apps and charging a small fee on each transaction? Or develop then dump shitcoins? That all seems not only gay, but also incredibly surface level.
Are their deeper avenues to explore?

So yea, how do developers make money on crypto then?
I assume there are plenty of people on this board with programming experience, what do you guys do with it?

learn about defi
current market trend is to make financial applications: futures, options, lending, borrowing, trading, stablecoins
if you want you can learn solidity and make something for defi
also, Chainlink is a nice platform where you can build cool apps on: we didn't have trusted oracles and random numbers in solidity before, so it opens the door to new applications
I'm currently building two defi apps in solidity, I don't know if they will be actually useful but they're something nice to put in my CV. Good solidity devs paid 170k+, just look at crypto companies open positions.

Thank you, great info.
I have been looking into defi, it’s some very interesting stuff.
I’d love to hear about what your building, but I get it if you’d rather not share at this point.
Not very interested in working for some big crypto company, at least not full time. Primarily interested in building things on my own.
