You have to pay a couple thousand dollars to apply for it and then they can decide to deny the application or even charge you estimated lifetime future taxes before letting you go. So if you amass a shitload of net worth in assets and then suddenly apply to revoke your citizenship they'll suspect you of tax dodging and say you have to pay whatever taxes they feel like you would owe on all your assets for the rest of your life up front or you can't lose your citizenship. This actually happened to a co-founder of Facebook when he tried to revoke his citizenship and move out of the country with all his Facebook assets. It's absolutely fucked.

Funny thing is that I got into Bitcoin recently just with the goal of earning some extra on top of my savings for a house down payment but suddenly all this shit is going down and I'm wondering the same thing, if this shit gets to $200k or beyond in the next year or two I think I'm in it for good.
