Can’t win them all and at the time if you told anyone BTC would be worth more than it’s ability to buy drugs online “anonymously” ($5-20 a piece) you’d have been laughed off the forum.

The thing that keeps me sane is the knowledge that every person here (even today) is early to the party and the sky is the limit as things currently stand. Can’t beat yourself up over every lost opportunity, although trust me I kicked my ass quite a lot between 2015-2017. Also was “fortunate” enough to have 150 BTC stolen during Mt. Its honestly not as bad as you might think; at the time we were using BTC for all it was good for, and most people on silk road were using the products they ordered to make extra money (silk road acid and K was fairly profitable for me in uni). At the very least it got us into crypto and gave us a better understanding of these systems than probably 95% of biz, by the time 2016/2017 rolled around most of us could probably tell which way the wind was blowing, I know i've made more than enough off crypto since then to make up for being early and naive with the bitcoins

Beyond the users who went out of their way to post trip reviews on the forums the marketplace was active enough that higher tier vendors had hundreds if not thousands of reviews so you could figure out who was legit vs who wasn’t, and some vendors sold testing kits.

Higher tier vendors usually required you to “finalize early” which would mean you released your bitcoin to them before you received the product so there was a level of trust once you had placed a few orders with the same people. yes, you are right, but bitcoin has structural features that ensure increasing scarcity as the network grows, it also has a very clear first mover advantage. They're not even in the same league, if you're really trying to make it in crypto doge is not your answer (outside of riding a quick pump and dump), you're better off getting into DeFi or some other network / token that you genuinely believe is the future of money (unironically this is XRP/XLM/SPARK for me, but as always, do your own research)

Depression mainly. Also losing friends. And obviously addiction. Quit uni over panic attacks. Basically NEETbux since then. I got lucky that I have money otherwise it would be a seriously bad situation.

What I would recommend:
Take LSD or shrooms in nature with a good friend. This will seriously change your life for the better.
Do MDMA at home with a girl, you won't get it up to fuck her, but the cuddling and bonding is nice.
A DMT breakthrough is like being born new. It will also change your life, but DMT in general is more like hippie crack and not as meaningful as LSD.
That"s it. Don't smoke weed, don't do stimulants, no opiates, and seriously don't fuck with benzos.

Particl solved the escrow problem but there's like zero activity in their app.

>Particl uses theBIP 65opcode, which allows a transaction output to be made unspendable until some point in the future, to enable MAD escrow contracts. It locks funds in a secure multi-signature address until all the parties sign off on the transaction.

>The seller starts by depositing an amount they want the buyer to match. The deposit can be between 0–100 % of the purchased item’s price.

>However, optimal MAD odds are achieved when the security deposit equals 100 % of the item’s price. The buyer then deposits an equal amount plus the price of the item they are buying. This double security deposit symbolizes a virtual handshake between the buyer and the vendor.

>The escrowed funds are not released to any party until both confirm that the transaction has been completed satisfactorily. To avoid filibustering, the MAD smart-contract has a timer that runs for a pre-determined duration of time. This can be extended if both parties agree. Once it runs out of time, the funds are locked forever. This prevents both parties from willingly delaying and hindering the escrow process.

>When both parties are satisfied with the outcome of the transaction, they have to confirm the transaction as complete. The payment is then released to the vendor and the security deposits are refunded to both parties at no fee.

I remember buying some coke for 100$ (1-2BTC) and doing lines at work.
My boss at the time thought I had great energy and gave me a bonus.

Sure it was overpriced in hindsight but totally worth it.

I kinda miss stories like this, as weird as drug stories are they tend to be great examples of BTC being used as an actual currency instead of just a speculation tool like it is now. Maybe the drug stories are still happening in Monero threads and I just don't know about them since I never go into Monero threads

I remember using a dogecoin faucet, maybe bitcoin. Also using "qoinpro" which is a scam. I was a dumb kid at the time and have no access to those yahoo emails so I can't ever look back at my bitcoin wallet that I had back when.
