Oh yeah guys I didn't mention the third option. Go to college and never pay back the loan. I've actually seen people do this, but I don't think it's a realistic option. I've heard if you don't pay back the loan the college can revoke your degree. Alongside the government garnishing your wages. So yeah. Probably not an option?

Simply holding the debt won't effect your score. Defaulting and refusing to pay them will.

Everything is a scam. Everything is so outrageously expensive. Work 10 yrs to afford a nice home IF you have a good job. Work for years to afford ONE nice car, IF you have a good job. To get that job you have to take that college debt. This is only for low income families of course. My family who was born into more wealth got this all for free. Am I jealous? Yeah, but I mean I'm happy for him. I don't wish wage slaving on anyone.
