Theoretically, we don't even need to wait until summer. AMC announced they are fully re-opening all their theaters yesterday. It is Valentine's Day in less than two weeks. Traditionally, that is a huge weekend for movies to open and probably the single biggest date night of the entire year which theaters and restaurants have always banked on. If their performance that weekend is strong, this will probably spike up a bit (assuming it doesn't already go back up this week enough to bail). If not, then there is also Godzilla vs Kong at the end of March. These are, by my estimation, the ONLY realistic parachutes anyone has left from this stock. There is no waiting for summer. Theaters are finished as it is, already were collectively dying long before covid and that is not arguable. The only other movies still planned for release this year that anyone actually cares about in a way that would be considered a box office success are the new James Bond, A Quiet Place 2, and a very big maybe with DUNE (but Villeneuve's films, while good, always bomb so I wouldn't expect much)

How delusional can you get? All of the competition that has been killing off AMC for ages is still around and doing fine. Marcus, CMX, Alamo Drafthouse, and Paragon all survived and frankly speaking are in much stronger financial positions.
