Scenario 1: Silver is worth at least $50 on fundamentals alone

Scenario 2: Silver is a good hedge against money printing, you are literally voting with your dollars. This movement will stabilize money printing for the temporary future and hedge your wealth appropriately

Scenario 3: For silver to drop, the economy would have do to extremely well. I am all for that, I still buy stocks along with silver - diversification is about building steady wealth. Its important to note that silver has the most limited downside risk of any other asset class currently being traded.

some dude on stocktwats said about a week or two ago that he was talking to the investor relations person for Great Panther and was able to squeeze some info out of her regarding an acquisition or merger. and I know the price has been held down for awhile because I used to swing it and was fairly predictable. today's break out is nice, but I'm wondering if they released shit guidance like that to self-fud to continue to suppress the price? really not sure what's going on, because that Tucano mine is supposed to be a huge project, right?

The goal is to accumulate steadily and at fair price. If everybody goes out and empties ebay and their local shops at $70 an ounce, that doesn't leave much room for organic growth.

If people slowly buy up the cheapest available silver, the spot price will be forced to go higher and higher - rather than getting massively scalped right out of the gate. There is plenty of cheap silver left to be bought online without FOMOing into insane premium rates.

TL:DR Slow and Steady wins the race

did this stockwits account have a meme picture to go with this totally authentic story?

you cant trust what you cant verify. look at their books and decide if you like the stonk.
also, you wanna figure out the health of their operation. are they affected by covid? what percentage of their mining operation is silver? whats the ceo like..etc

If you dont wanna do that stuff, then your best bet is to ride market sentiment. aka buy meme stocks.

if your looking for penny miners, i see MUX thrown around alot. but i havent looked into them and cant comment, as Im an options trader and dont touch stonks under $15

There are ONLY two scenarios regarding what is going on with WSB against silver and /biz/ promoting it:

>Either only one of us is getting played
OR
>Both of us are getting played

It would be very arrogant to assume that it is lereddit who is getting played (cuz their dumb!) while /biz/ is 1000iq and not getting played and attacked on all fronts as well.

>So what's going on?

Media is reporting that WSB has "moved on from GME and is now onto SLV!". But this is incorrect. WSB has not moved on and is in fact, actively against $SLV (which is a good thing since it's purely paper). But this false narrative from the media has completely turned WSB AWAY from silver talk whatsoever. To the point that the new normies that joined aren't realizing the difference among SLV/PSLV/bullion.

>Why would the media report this?

Come up with your own ideas for this. Could be a bunch of reasons. Perhaps it was just a mistake. Perhaps it was to pump SLV to help citadel's losses. Perhaps it was to divide and conquer. Split /biz/ and WSB completely on this issue, rile up our weird hatred for reddit and now get happy as GME stock drops? Also, price of silver is dropping again after the few dollar pump.

Ultimately, we need consensus and collaboration. Whether you like it or not, we need WSB. We need people to move bullion, not laughing from the sidelines.

We're likely both being played for fools. Don't act so fucking arrogant.

kek. I'm not buying your MUX bags. Like I said, I swung this last year a lot in my IRA, and always avoided the options chains because they had low liquidity. today's liquidity was actually quite high for 7/16 2.50 Cs, so retail is definitely buying this. I'm just wondering if they're going to keep fucking with it because fundamentally, it's a great story (textbook turnaround from a dying miner with a new CEO and board members). Plus they acquired a new massive mine.

Even small moves in silver price make a huge impact on silver miners' free cash flow. Also there are several majors (Barrick) on the hunt for takeover targets. Right now I really like FCX since they also mine a fuckton of copper, which is nearing $4/pound (which would be a new record high) and Barrick seems to want to buy them out.

Also AUMN for a small miner that just started pouring their first metal last month, but have good silver assets.

yea Hecla is always planning ahead when it comes to projects for future mining. Thats why their partnered with Dolly Varden Silver, they want to help them get the project into a position where they can extend the partnership or do a buy out and than operate a mine themselves there. Its partly why Hecla has continued to exist for the last century. They plan more than a lot of other companies seem to.

Well, precisely as many had postulated: The real response signal to look for (if the flood of new buying in the $Silver space was being effective), was for the Crimex cabal to raise the margin requirements on futures contracts. This is the exact same thing they started doing in late 2010 and incrementally throughout 2011, and they eventually ratcheted up the margin requirements until the last one was so burdensome, that it neatly marked the top of the PM bull market in the fall of 2011.

Well, just a few days of focus on Silver upward pricing pressure, where some institutional and hedge funds were likely short and caught off guard, and then… boom here it is again… This is the challenge with a swift move higher, they’ll rush in to throw cold water on the fire by raising margins. Oy vey.

CME Hikes Silver Futures Margins Following Retail Buying Frenzy

Feb. 01, 2021

“Silver futures (XAGUSD:CUR) open lower after the CME Group (NASDAQ:CME) says it is raising margins on Comex silver futures by 18% after surging today to an eight-year high, in a move that could edge out smaller players who lack the cash to make necessary deposits.”

“Margins will rise to $16,500 per contract from $14,000, effective Feb. 2, based on “the normal review of market volatility to ensure adequate collateral coverage,” CME says.

Not investment advice etc., but if this is money you don't expect to need, or need growing immediately, I would recommend one of the junior, mid-risk companies. Dolly Varden, Impact Silver, Blue Lagoon come to mind as companies whose share price are between 40 and 85 cents, letting you accumulate more.

Once they start to move, you should see better returns. $1200 only buys you sub 20 shares of AG right now.

No, it's an old trick which goes back to the Hunts as I say. Along with 2011, when they crushed silver by raising margin requirements 5 times, and then spoofing the price into oblivion. Raising margin requirements keeps small traders out of the market, and forces large traders to get rid of their contracts. It causes the market to be illiquid and cash poor. It gives power to the omnipotent predatory big 8 banks which are 50,000% short. Means that there are fewer people to fight back against them.

Silver is a byproduct of other industrial metal mining, is a play for zinc, copper, etc. major miners a valid strategy to diversify? I was already 5% net worth in metals and mining gold/silver (mostly on your and this generals' info), but due to reddit faggottry meme stonks, that's down to 3%, as I already realized muh gainz last week.

I am sure central bank induced money printing will make commodities a valid inflation hedge. I'm looking at long terms hold to avoid short term capital gains taxes (which are going to fuck me this year due to the aforementioned reddit faggottry).

Or some idiot literally pulled up a ticker, looked at the short amounts and went, "WOAH LOOK AT THE DAMAGE WE COULD DO WITH SOMETHING SHORTED 50,000%" and decided to let loose the dogs of war by diverting people towards something they didn't fully understand.

The amount of people we had in this board over the last 72 hours asking extremely basic questions and in a complete state of panic thinking that Silver was going to open at $1000 this morning because some retail investors wasted money trying to fight the most powerful financial institutions on the planet was off the charts.

Still, the reality is that the campaign did work. Bullion is sold out everywhere due to unprecedented demand and this will take weeks, months to stabilize again.

Bayhorse Silver currently operates the Bayhorse small scale high grade silver mine in Idaho, and holds mineral claims to the Brandywine Au/Ag property near Whistler BC. They were also recently involved in a gold project near Harrison Lakes BC but backed out of the deal after it became apparent the project was getting nowhere, and shifted focus to maximizing potential at the Bayhorse mine. The Bayhorse mine is hosted in meta sedimentary rocks, ore is hosted by VMS and higher grade silver enriched quartz veins. The previous operators chased only the highest grade ore and ignored material that Bayhorse is currently expanding on. Bayhorse just began underground diamond drilling at the mine, and expect to use this to trace the richer vein structures which are difficult to follow due to geologic conditions which I can expand if needed. The bayhorse mine has an onsite small scale high grade bi metallic mill and concentration plant, allowing the company to generate its own concentrate or bullion if required. I believe that Bayhorse will do fine, they had troubles before but are seemingly on track. I will continue to monitor the operations.

yes any company with their own mill or the money to build / operate them would be good. Because if you have an area with several projects run by small companies and if one builds a mill it means other projects nearby can setup deals with that company to process ore. It also means the company with the mill can generate more revenue with this as well in general.

hey guys, just wanted to report in with a tale from the local coin shop...

I arrived before the store opened for the first time, and found that I was about the 8th person in line. after I got in, I noted that there were probably 50 people there to buy silver within ten minutes of the store opening.

I'm not sure about this, because I left after my purchase, but I think the store totally sold out of silver bullion within an hour, maybe two, of opening.

I think the price was $36 US per ounce. overpriced, I know. but people are willing to pay this much because some day will be the last day to buy silver under $50/oz, and so on.

felt like a bank rush, and it put a smile on my face to see all these people with their envelope of multiple grand from Chase. grassroots movement folks.

Mainly historic coins from the US, Russia/USSR, and European countries that moved to the Euro. Recently I’ve moved onto collecting US and foreign coins for their silver value, as well as bullion. Also the occasional ancient coin. Some of my favorite coins aren’t worth much at all, like pic related that I got in Russia (not my pic but I have the same one).

Started buying just over a month ago. I’m up to 101oz. I have another 100oz on the way. Not gonna buy again until next dip. My cost avg $27.50oz.
I plan on giving it all away to family and friends very soon.

5 ounce bars are a good buy if you must accumulate to beat premiums.
Anything of 10oz is easy to transport, but bigger is just something to sell off for fiat to move your buying power.

Keep buying at least 10 single ounces in your big purchases anon.
