My foray into stocks was ultimately unsuccessful but i've not put much into it and its been a fun learning curve. Typically my practice money account on trading 212 made a fortune, but in real money I was too cautious when I should have been brave and too slow when action was required.
As for crypto i've been holding XRP since mid last year when I entered crypto and had wished i'd cashed out in early December but its nice to see my position recover. Might swap it for ADA or BTC. I've also accumulated Algo since September and its more than doubled with the recent action but I bought with the intention of it being my longterm hold so im reluctant to sell even though I know I should then buy back in double when it dips. Finally I signed up for Kraken, and bought a monero which is up. Was sick of coinbase, don't trust metro, and bitrue is limited. Considering getting a binance account as well since coinbase has effectively locked me out and I hold nothing there.
Not a bad week with all things considered.

This is exactly the experience I've had honestly, made millions in monopoly money because yeah you're just like "LETS DO THIS WOOOOO" and here I'm diamond hands when I should be and I'm too cautious studying buy-sell walls on each pump before I try to invest.

>As for crypto i've been holding XRP since mid last year when I entered crypto and had wished i'd cashed out in early December but its nice to see my position recover.
XRP is my steady coin, I also do expect a massive run on it come the SEC case close in the summer hopefully. That said it's "dead money" at the moment. The issue is I bought in at $50c in 2017 and I don't really see the point of selling when I think it will go to at least $1-3 when the SEC lose their retarded securities argument. XRP is also one of the "big three" it's dethroned ETH a few times. It's not really going anywhere unless the SEC get their far-fetched ruling.

Long term XRP bag holder here.
My guess is that Ripple are going to get bent over and raped for Brad and co clearly manipulating the price of XRP, basically Bathroom guardian'ing every bullrun. They want XRP to be "stable" so it looks better to investors who want to use it for cross border payments.
I personally use my XRP for cross border payments, (my accounts are in Australia but I trade and live in the UK) it's legitimately good for that usecase.
I think the SEC will lose on the securities case. the idea XRP is a security is just retarded. Everyone else in the world has ruled it's not a security when it came up, other US institutions themselves have ruled it's not a security. It being a security would ruin the entire fucking point of XRP.
My guess is massive fines for Ripple and Brad for Price manipulation and their bullshit, though XRP gets away not being a security.

As for XRP it's hard to say when the SEC issue will be resolved. I havnt heard anything about the summer time frame. It could surely go either way. If they lose then its dead money. If they win then it's going to moon. I'm not convinced XRP has a great case but I don't really know the ins and outs. Hence my uncertainty about swapping out for ADA or BTC. Could almost straight swap XRP for Cardano which is bound to get to 30p and beyond quicker. Or BTC just due to its current dip. suppose i'll have to make a decision sooner rather than later.

It really isn't RB or 212 fault. It is how the system works.

The trades that you make have to be held by an intermediary for approximately two days so they can be correctly settled.

The intermediary was struggling to process all the buy and sell orders, which meant they effectively increased the price of holding the trades by (iirc, 100%) meaning that 212 and RB did not have the capital to fund the trades.

I assume that 212 and RB both use the same intermediary as startup brokers.

I need to cash out some of my crypto to pay for actual things, I already cashed out like £7K I owed someone.
A few threads ago there was some discussion about using ISAs to avoid paying tax. Do I need to use an ISA if I stay under the £12K tax-free allowance for the year?

RR does look to be a good long play with their advances in nuclear SMR technology and naval ship turbines - the MT30 being the new hot item over the LM3000. I have little doubt the government will be dropping the big dough to fund SMRs around the country for 'nOrtH pOWeR HuOsE' , green energy and because Hinckley Point is a shitshow.

OP here

Gonna use 5% of my stack on this absolute tiny token which got.pumped by biz back in the day, it's cheap enough to make mad gains but i'm.not gonna put any big money in just the spare ETH

Has potential but could easily be overlooked as it's only on uniswap if you import coingecko list.

Fucking uniswap fees though argh!!!!

I think BB happened because it was being talked about alongside GME (before the absolute madness) as a pretty undervalued long-term play. But it does involve them delivering on restructuring plans under Chen. Still, I'm going to be getting back in after GME, especially now it's crashed back down - it was never the quick swing trade, I guess people got caught up in the moment/didn't even look into why these stocks were being focused on.

You could continue to use it as an ordinary savings account and some offer better interest rates that most other accounts on the market, although I've heard Halifax slashed the interest rate of their HTB ISA so you may just be better off moving that money somewhere else.

And the last date you can use a HTB ISA is 30 November 2030. Will you really not be buying a house before then?
