Is buying the dip a meme? Every time I bought the dip it just kept going down until my money was all gone. I have a sneaking suspicion people who tell me to buy the dip aren't trying to be helpful at all...

You buy the dip when it's obviously not in fucking free-fall

Every time someone tells me to hold and buy the dip it goes into freefall and I lose everything. Why are my internet friends on /biz/ giving me unhelpful advice?

you buy the dip on real companies trading below value not magic internet money that could disappear tomorrow and nobody would give a fuck

I'm a retard who never read any books about investing, never did DD, doesn't even know what a technical or fundamental analysis is, and still, I'm making money and haven't made any significant loss ever.

My strategy is simple, I look out for dips (literally just by lurking yahoo's loser stock screener) and whenever there is a big-name viable company that takes a 4-5% or more loss, I buy.
If it loses more the following day, I buy. It keeps losing? I still buy. As long as it's not in deep shit for good reasons I know my money won't evaporate and I just hodl. I play with a small amount of money, since I transitioned to etoro I started with around 3500$ and I already made a 30% profit. I probably could make more if I actually used my brain but for now this is good enough for me.

Buy the dip (on safe stocks), hodl if you must, grow a pair of balls and learn to be chill even if your account is red, stocks only go up.

Those that say buy the dip are either clueless parrots or those that gave at least a basic understanding of chart reading and understanding support versus resistance. These concepts apply to crypto and stocks. It dates back centuries and is a basic understanding of human psychology. YouTube it.

What exactly is it you're buying? I take it that it's scammy meme coins because everything else recovers in time. Or is it perhaps that you have jelly hands and end up selling before it recovers?

I can't say I trade a lot of crypto, last week I bought BTC at 34k and kept buying while it went down to 29 then sold a 37k. I don't know anything about other coins though so I don't know if there is any "safe" coin.
