Actually made a dApp on TRX, primarily because the token is so cheap relative network usage.

Decentralized Application = dApp

Its what Tron, VeChain and Ethereum allow you to run.
Part of Web 3.0, wherein the Content of the Web is decentralized. Connections to IP addresses don't matter, instead a "Blockchain" is made using Crypto Currency.

Ethereum is great if you want to create some kind of financial instrument because the Gwei per transaction is probably worth more than what you do. So its used for Decentralized Finance.

But if you want to create a decentralized application outside of finance you'll want to find a cheaper currency. In that way your getting more out of their network then what the coin make it look like its worth.

ATOM is for transacting between blockchains, not a use case of a dApp.

ZIL doesn't have a decent Sdk last time I checked. Probably check again now, though really liked TRX Sdk. Could get a working dApp in 1 day instead of learn a new Crypto-Contract language.

ATOM allows you to build a new blockchain and connect it to others, not my use case.

I just want to run code in a decentralized manner. ETH would be fine if its expense/speed ratio was so off.

Looking at ZIL I'd probably go for that if the TRX price gets close to $1
