short-selling in and of itself is fine. There needs to be a balance to longs, and there needs to be an incentive for people to investigate investments to see whether they're actually dogshit or not. Shorts, overall, actually help decrease volatility. Without them you'd see far more runaway pump and dumps.

the problem here with things like GME is
1) naked shorting and hedge fund kikes being allowed to short something for more than the available shares
2) hedge fund kikes being allowed to assume infinite risk without getting liquidated. Imagine margin trading on binance but you don't have to worry about liquidation levels ever. Instead you just get to say "lmao put it on my tab" for billions of dollars you don't even have
3) the ensuing moral hazard of the above, because they know that their kike buddies in government will bail them out if they fuck up too badly

Trading all derivatives should be illegal.

>> No.26983800

i don't think shorting should be illegal, but I do think you should only be able to short the available amount of shares. None of this 15x short ratio bs.

no, but likewise no one is eligible for gibs just because they got fucked in a short squeeze.

As opposed to gibs? Supply and demand are basics functions of a society. Trading is trading. No matter what the goods and services are, it's all a gamble.

No, market manipulation by sorting the way they did should be illegal. Colluding to halt trading to force prices down so they don’t face the risks of shorting should be illegal

also the people hat yoloed in after the first pump also took unreasonable risks and got punished by the market. there is no problem there either. it's all fair game imo.

the platforms halting trading is unfortunate. but they have regulatory requirements about margins and reserves which can get compromised in a runaway market situation.

let's hope they re-enable the green button. and let's hope gme won't dilute it's stocks to let hedge funds buy them up for the penny.

Not if the share being loaned out exists and its loaned with the full knowledege of the actual owner, not through an institution that manages them for him, it has to be opt-in and you should be allowed to filter which institutions can loan your shares, you should be notified when and who loans a share you own. And only to the point every share loaned out can realistically be paid back (under 25-50% of the market or maybe even less depending on trading volume vs total shares).

>> No.26985659

>unfortunate
Jew language. The decision to halt trading was made by a person. Fortune had nothing to do with it. Deliberate actions are not "unfortunate". A person is responsible and they have a family.

Forcing users to sell so hedge funds can open longs before reopening trade is not the market. There is no market btw, its all owned by private entities that are married into each other's families and coordinate their actions for their benefit without even having to speak a word about it.

not one person it was like 6 platforms/brokerages and robinhood already disclosed they want to re-enable trading but they had to halt.

diluting the stocks is in the best interest of the company in these situations. they don' tprofit from their stocks going up unless they have any to sell left. they profit from issuing new stocks (printing money out of thin air) greatly tho. it also normalizes the market because the valuation is unreasonable given the state of the business.

let's face it the hedge funds will survive this gamestop will get some cash injection and robinhood kids will get rekt.

but many this is so fun to watch. like a fucking trainwreck then an other train running into it.

If someone has the capital, they can crash anything they want and benefit from it. It's designed to give ultimate power over the economy to (((hedge funds))).

It should be illegal, as it doesn't serve a legitimate purpose in price discovery and valuation.

>> No.26987245

not really..... but the fudding and manipulation and paying news to spread negative stuff to crash prices should be illegal manipulation and they should be arrested for it.... they do it in bitcoin, funny tether fud only comes up when we enter a bull market right? when they enter their shorts right? .... this shit should be illegal, they need to be jailed for life.
