I need y'all's help, tl;dr I'm a fucking moron who lost access to some Monero that I'm trying to get back.

So, back in like 2018 (2019?) I put like $60 into Monero, can't remember exactly where I bought it but I used bitcoin and ended up saving it to a Mineshaft wallet, which required me to download the whole blockchain (can't remember exactly but it was more than 200 Gb).

Fast forward to a few months back, I was trying to fix a startup bug on my PC, so I wiped the hard drive that had the wallet on it. All the info I wrote down was my mnemonic seed, the "wallet restore height," and my password.

Is there any way to find my Monero? Or is it basically gone now that I deleted the blockchain? I tried to find a current build of Mineshaft, but I guess it's dead or something cause I can't find anything.

Also, if it can be recovered, is there a way to do it that doesn't require downloading hundreds of gigs of data?

Connecting to a remote node exposes your ip to whoever runs the node, but that's pretty much it. You're essentially streaming the blockchain from someone else who downloaded it, so you don't have to. One way or another, your computer needs to see the transaction history of the network in order to see how much money you have.

People around here say it will be a few years until monero moons. Depending on who you ask, it's either 2 years or 4-5 years. This is obviously a long time, and the implication that monero will stay around 150-200$ for that extended period of time just doesn't seem that feasable. Ofcourse it could go above 200$, but it could also go back down to 2 figures. Just look at the charts. And in the end, it's just speculation, i can't predict the future or manipulate the charts.
