You simply send your GRT from coinbase to your metamask wallet. Make sure to add the token so you don't freak out and not see it come in. It takes a minute to transfer. Put ETH into your metamask wallet from your coinbase account. At least 40 usd worth in case gas is high. go to the official graph website and link your metamask wallet. on the top, click on network, on the top right click connect wallet. scroll down to indexers and select one or paste in the address of one you selected. do some research on who to select. the cut doesn't mean shit if there is a ton in on the indexer already. this will help you select one. https://reward.suntzu.me/ after you input the indexer, on the right of the data select delegate.

The rewards are in GRT, so whatever the going rate for one token is, you can do the math. The rate anyone is getting right now will likely go down as their indexer pool fills up and they get diluted to some degree or another. Also, right now the rewards are largely from indexing, the real future money will be in query fees which are still a very unknown quantity at the moment.

How do I know what the indexer i'm delegating to is doing? I want to put my tokens in projects that I believe in, not random 'get xxx returns back from me'.

I can see the page for community subgraphs, but I see no information when I click on them, how for instance can I delegate to an indexer who is serving queries for projects I believe in, e.g 1inch.

It's a 28 day opportunity cost for the delegators and a server maintenance cost for the indexer. That includes electricity, hardware updates, technical knowledge. On top of that indexers will be picked for their ability to generate fees on queries. Right now there are no fees.

To make it worth it, 10k minimum. To get a couple GRT an hour without going to some small indexer that will get diluted in a week? Probably 100k. At my rate of 18% APY you would get about 2 an hour or 18k a year. Current prices sets that at a dollar an hour or 24 dollars a day. Not bad considering you're doing nothing but having an opportunity cost. That's $50k to get though.

The catch is that you can't remove it from the indexer for 28 days after you decide to undelegate. So much can happen in 28 days. We could rocket to $100 and then to 0 over a week. The idea is that you're taking this opportunity cost to say "I trust this project and this indexer so much that I'm going to miss an entire month worth of potential profit taking".

Can someone help a dummy like me figure out which indexer to go with? Or at least, how to filter them? I'm looking at these indexer lists, and the calculated daily gain doesn't at all match the calculated APY. Some of these are sitting at 300% APY with calculated daily take of 15 GRT, while others are calculating 22% APY with 42 GRT daily take.
