The point I'm making is that it's imaginary (non-useful) until you buy something with it, at which point you lose the value you gave up to buy that something (rendering that value non-useful, as you no longer possess it)

It's not real until used, then unusable.

Value is all that matters - whether it's money, a possession, an asset - and it's all the same thing; potential.

People who try to tell you potential is not value or value is not potential are trying to take one or the other away from you. This is also why time is the most valuable thing, because it's all potential and you have no choice but to spend it and have it taken from you.
