Why do we do it?

Why do we need millions to retire when most of it will be spent on medical care near the end. I set a goal for myself, 75. I will enjoy 75 years on this Earth and then end it. I have 45 years to go, and only need to work for another 10 years or so with wise investment. Then I can live frugally, and spend my time creating things for others to enjoy and taking care of animals/gardening. Even if you go the family route, you can still break away from this system that so degrades and breaks down the human spirit. Bond with nature and make strong relationships with others and your need to consoom, and thus your need for their money will decrease rapidly.

i know i should be applying for something better than my wagie retail job but the whole search + application process makes me want to commit neckrope

i don't have any useful skills either, never could be bothered to learn coding or get IT certs; feels like it's either NEETdom or retail wagie hell for me

i have such an incredible lack of ambition it's like i'd rather die than do any hard work, ever

yeah that's what I do like about it: extremely low pressure, customer base is easygoing (never been yelled at), minimal responsibilities, coworkers are chill, store is like 2 minutes away from house, free samples in the break room

the pay sucks of course but at the same time my low income qualifies me for medicaid which covers 100% medical/dental costs with no monthly fee; that's saved quite a bit of money for me

also listening to the same goddamn greatest hits of the '70s and '80s every damn day is driving me up the wall; i'd like a job where i could just listen to my own music or a podcast to maintain my sanity
