26207267 No.26207267 [Reply] [Original]

I’m all in AVAX, but I have no idea what it does....

I saw pepe’s and saying some sort of partnership with LINK, and bought in.

Avax is a layer 1 correct? Main competition is ETH and DOT. Why is this the best one?

layer-zero is more of an apt description

It's a consensus engine withj subnets with arbitrary rules, one of those is the c-chain, which is a complete recreation of ethereum, but 500x faster

all other blockchains can be ported in this manner

I’m a 95 IQ brainlet. Basically, If I’m understanding this correctly could ultimately ETH “run” on top of AVAX?

When a chain gets ported to AVAX, it runs on top of AVAX?

the c-chain is ETH on avax.

The bridge between old ETH and avax c-chain will launch this month.

Migration of solidity smart contracts is possible today with no friction whatsoever. Everything that works on ETH, works on C-chain

yes. it uses avalanche as a consensus mechanism - instead of PoW or PoS.

Dunno, anyone can run their own node on a raspberry pi at home so I wouldn't think it'd be an issue if nodes can be added so easily, and be rewarded for it.

Now I see why this jumped 50%. In the past I had invested in some PoS projects like Harmony One.

So basically, AVAX is kind of a win/win crypto. If ETH stays the “default” chain, then AVAX can essentially help “optimize it” by allowing smart contracts built on ETH to be ported over.

If AVAX becomes superior to ETH. Then people can develop on AVAX from the beginning of their project, or port over to AVAX.

Now I see why AVAX is a certified /comfy/ crypto. It basically has a use case regardless of what happens in the future...

Yep, ETH bridge coming soon, Pangolin, 500 requirement for node instead of 2000, european e-money will run on it and many other near-future upgrades and news.

Comfy af, I staked 500 AVAX for a month and will get 4 for it, with no risk of slashing. I'm already planning on running my own node when they lower the requirement.

So delegating and running a node are both different types of staking?

I am guessing you get more rewards from running a node? Whats the difference?

Delegating you pay at least 2% of your reward to the node runner.
Running your own node you get your full reward and at least 2% of anyone delegating to you.
