I'm not gonna lie. When I make it I wanna move to California. I know the politics of the state are fuck up and left leaning but to me it's such a beautiful place and one of the last semblance of the American dream. not only that but the weather is great, geography is beautiful and there is a lot of capital investment into the state...

Wait til you meet the hood. You can't escape them in the suburbs, Mexicans will live 6 families in one house to split the cost and you still have to intermingle with them every time you go shopping. Cali hood trash are complete unsalvageable wretches. You'll probably get mugged if you're white and can't even defend yourself because you're a racist carrying an illegal weapon if you do.

btw, most of cali looks like a utter shithole. A neighborhood like that which you pictured will have homes STARTING at easily over a million+ and you'll be out bid a hundred times (even if paying fucking cash on the spot) by rich asians. And yes, asians have a silent strat of only selling to other asians and outbidding non asians as much as possible because they want to keep the, *ahem* others out (I don't blame them at all). You'll find it difficult and VERY expensive to live in a nice community and they are becoming increasingly harder to come by.

As for migrants, we will get most of them due to cali having by far and away the MOST pozzed government and business who cater to migrants. Free housing, food, drivers license without citizenship, grants, cheap or free university, healthcare, etc. This is the paradise for migrants.

And once you get in, they will eventually pass a law to tax you when you eventually see how shit this place is and leave. Its better to be rich where your money is actually yours and not seen as 'on loan' to you by the government.

And then there is the traffic... fuck this place.

I'm from San Diego originally and loved it growing up but as I got closer to adulthood I realized how pointless it was to work hard in California as a normie. Moved to flyover nowhere and I've got 300k in crypto plus a decent salary. Going to have a paid off house when I'm 40. I miss the weather and nature but it's not worth it.

Prepare to pay over a million to avoid the hood. There is a new development with the cheapest homes starting at the "low millions" )I am not kidding, those are their words). Some parts of california are great. Northern california in particular. Born in Santa Cruz, college at Berkeley, lived in San Diego and Los Angeles, and have lived in half a dozen other countries and as many more states.
Pros: cute and dumb girls. cute and smart girls. innovative educational groups. cosmopolitan community.
Cons: taxes. traffic. terrible air quality. everyone is stressed out all the time. taxes. No one belongs in california, they're only ever passing through, unless you've given up on social mobility. Did I mention taxes? Seriously, when you're bringing in 35 cents of every dollar you're bringing in, the incentive to do anything at all is tossed out the window.
You can have everything that california offers without being in california and dealing with california. Really bothersome bureaucracy; I've only come across such limiting laws in crippled third world economies, which is what california will be in fifteen years. Or didn't you hear? Massive white flight from every major city. Top 10% of property taxes have already left. That means every coastal city that everyone jerks off to, which, btw, are already bankrupt, no longer have their tax base. There will be several detroits in the next decade along the california coast.

Well summed up anon. To add to your last point, once all the major movie/tv production companies move out of LA and big tech relocates outside the Bay area, California's economy is going to be crippled. Thankfully the movie industry is going down the tank and production companies are filming in Canada and shittier cities across the country more than ever to take advantage of the tax benefits and lower operating costs. We're also seeing companies like google, FB, microsoft, etc. setting up major campuses and headquarters across the US. As shit gets worse for California and the tax revenue dries up, where do you think they're going to go fill their coffers? They'll implement more taxes on businesses, kicking the rungs out beneath any entrepreneur wanting to start a local business, and it'll reach a point where major industries will shut up shop and move their operations to another state.

If you know where to look there are a few neighborhoods in California that haven't changed asthetically or demographically from the 1960s. The cost of living there is insane ($2M for a house would be a bargain), but just walking through of these neighborhoods is surreal because it looks identical to what you seen in movies and TV shows from the 60s and 70s, but with newer cars.

and like you said, California is innovative. easily the most innovative state in the US. so when a company like Oracle decides to move it's HQ, California will likely just create other companies which will equal an oracle

>California’s Legislature is considering a wealth tax on residents, part-year residents, and any person who spends more than 60 days inside the state’s borders in a single year. Even those who move out of state would continue to be subject to the tax for a decade—a provision that calls to mind the Eagles’ famous “Hotel California” lyric: “You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.”

But it felt more like the last bastion of a regular policed neighborhood in a hellscape. the moment i left BH and walked just a little bit too far in any direction i was back in homeless, filthy hell.

i never visited malibu or palos verdes but they seem nothing like the rest of LA. if you have enough money to live in malibu, go for it. for me, I paid $2000 a month for a closet-sized one bedroom with a batshit insane neighbor and no amenities

My Dad passed away in 2001 left me a home in Hancock Park (valued at $5.6M in today’s market) and rental properties along fountain in west Hollywood area (valued at $12m-$15m) . I been able to enjoy ridiculously low real estate tax.
Otherwise I get dunked on by every angle. Comptrollers taxes , medical taxes, save a nigger fund taxes , pay for a Armanian to wear a leather jacket taxes , your cousins wife got pregnant taxes,
The Koreans need kimchi taxes. You get the idea. Sunset Blvd is washed. Hollywood Cahuenga has resumed the party
Sunset party scene is dead and its not as cool as the good ol rocker scene. Coke and band groupies around my pool after hours. Or have you guys been to Mouse Trap after hours on Pico east of Fairfax?

Riverside, and Riverside county is a fucking shithole. All the whites have left. It's beans everywhere. City has gone so far downhill. There are nice neighborhoods, just like LA, but not worth it to pay half a mil to get carjacked 2 blocks from your house.
It's still not as bad as most of LA, but hell. In the next 4 years it definitely will be.|
As an aside, it's also incredibly frustrating watching illegals get to do whatever they want. They barely have to abide by the law here. When cops pull them over, they don't even get tickets. It's disgusting.
