Gas is no more than £10/day
On Uber Eats you get an average of £15/hour so with 8 hours of work you made £120.

I'm fucked. Why did I pick this shitty IT degree when all the work is being outsourced to third worlders, fuck.

I'm fucking shocked bro. The only fucking reason I started this IT degree is to get a "good job", invest all the money I earn and then be done with it. It doesn't seem worth it wasting those 3 years on studying that shit when I can make even more driving around and be able to invest even more money. Fuming right now

Still better than a fucking code monkey job man. It will take like 5-10 years of "experience" to get into a 6 figure salary. And who wants to be a fucking code monkey for that long?

>> No.26141411

that's because writing software is considered a shit job in the EU for some reason. In the US it's not even considered part of "IT" colloquially. That'd be like calling the guy who designs cars a mechanic

The catch is that you have to pay 80k a year in rent to live in someone's closet and the city will be filled with homeless and jews.

I live in a college town and even before the lockdown uber eats was shit money. First you have to drive 10 minutes to one of 4 McDonald's in town. You get to the McDonald's (because 99% of the time it's only that one franchise giving you orders) and have to wait another 10 minutes for them to make the food (eats is lowest priority out of all the orders).

Then you drive another 10 minutes through shitty traffic because bad urban planning and at the end of it, you make like $6. Yeah, 30 minutes of work for $6. And you don't get anything else for another 30 minutes. Also nobody tips because they're all broke college students.

>software engineers get paid around 80k in most places and if you're really good you can get paid up to 100k
WTH? I started in the mid 90's at $42k and made it to $100k within three years. For most of my career, I made $140k-$180k depending on bonuses. I retired three years ago and don't follow things anymore, but has the software industry in the US gotten that bad that quickly?
