Tether/Bitfinex struck a deal with XSN to build out the LN compatibility similar to the work they did for Litecoin for all its Omni chain variants so USDT, EURT and so on, support ERC20 variants via Connext (was Raiden originally) along with a partnership for the DEX. Bitfinex will run DEX hubs and provide liquidity as well as operating L2 channels between Bitfinex to the DEX making fiat to crypto as fast as possible. As regulations and oversight are incoming, Bitfinex is looking to downsize CEX operations and concentrate on fiat gateways while offloading the crypto trading to the DEX to limit exposure. As part of the deal XSN had to sign exclusivity to Bitfinex so they can not pursue any new exchanges. Other exchanges can still list XSN but the team cannot actively help/assist in that integration.
Altogether this means is Bitfinex is about to enter the DEX game through XSN DEX. They will ensure liquidity and run hubs with direct links to Bitfinex providing fiat gateways pushing billions in daily volume through the DEX. This deal will be announced shortly after Bitfinex lists XSN and the launch dates for the DEX are announced.
