>Made it with Link (75k link and 1 LP)
>Don't want to commit yet to buying a house (recently graduated, only 26).
>Want to rent, I can pay a whole year in advance if needed.
>All real estate agents require 4x monthly rent in gross salary. They won't consider your net worth.

WTF? Money is money correct? My only option is to just buy?

Pretty much yeah. The housing market is fucked.

Just negotiate with the owner personally. There aren’t any real rules to this stuff, and worst case scenario you could probably pay half a year in advance if they requested.

>> No.25937930

>>25937874
This, you probably didn't even try. Many landlords are happy to take a year of rent in advance to compensate for not having the required salary.

It's not that hard of a requirement if you call the agent. It's just so students and poor people don't bother them. If you actually call them and explain, most will be okay with it. Make sure to not pay upfront tho because 10k€ will force them to report the transaction. Unless of course you go with "grey" agents. Plenty of them in big cities who rent out to people with unregistered income (drug dealers, criminals etc).

Which city? I might be able to give some pointers.

This, whenever I've needed to rent without a salary I would just pay a full 6 months at a time, or sometimes they want a separate check for each month but you write them all up front.

Kind of similar bullshit here in Germany. Get a tax adviser to maybe sign off some sort of recommendation that you are not some sort of drug selling criminal tax evader, that is the way my buddy got his flat even though he could have bought the whole complex. They would not accept his bank statements. Maybe get the same tax office that the landlord uses to do it. Try to overstep those agents, they are NPC looser tier people without a soul.

Most of the people I know who work there are depressed. I studied finance but I got lucky with buying Link. Save up and invest, and try to get out of there as soon as possible. I always lol at try hards in their cheap suits thinking they are balling hard on a 3k/month salary.

Was thinking the same thing. Am a Dutchfag too, although I only have 5k linkies. I currently only make like 800/month while also studying full time. I'm borrowing 1k a month in student loans but landlord niggers won't accept that as a form of income, while it is literally GUARANTEED monthly fucking money by the Dutch government. Fucking bullshit. For those payments to stop, the Dutch state apparatus would literally have to fall and we'd be living in anarchy anyways. Why is this not accepted as monthly income?

Anyway, hoping for a x10 so I can just buy a house and kiss landlord niggers farewell forever.

Okay so you are still young and don’t really get it which is fine. Don’t send an application. Call them directly and discuss it. Buy them lunch and have a chat. Just sending an application is the bare minimum effort so you shouldn’t be surprised that you get the minimum results.

This is true not just for landlords but business in general. They’re people just like you. They were young once and have had similar struggles. Just be normal and forthright about your issues and be clear with them about how you intend to mitigate those issues for them. I’d much rather rent to someone with minor issues that was proactive in addressing them, than someone with a perfect application that didn’t communicate with me otherwise.

Oh, also make sure that you do a check on the agent or owner and they actually represent the property. It’s a very common scam to put out a rental notice on the web and get payment through something like PayPal and disappear with the cash. I and like 30 other people put a down payment on the same apoartment and got burned that way when I was younger.

That's funny, because the government said people could use the loans to pay for their education and living, which includes housing. But of course the reality is always negative in this country.

This is actually not legal in the netherlands. What I mean is he could sue the owner and get his money back, and the owner would still be bound to the rent contact. Therefore no owner that knows the law and has a brain would accept these terms.
