Depends how you look at it. That's true but I think they're so heavily discounted right now that if there were tensions or geopolitical events or wars they would pop.
Tensions with China in the technology and defence industries aren't going to go anywhere either. Whatever posturing or economic position the West takes, you can bet that China will be the main focus of military R&D and development.
Defence is a boring stock to hold compared to other industries but it's definitely an industry to be confident in.

Idk anon it's more of a long-term boomer investment that hedges against worldwide tensions somewhat. There's lower reward because there's lower risk.
Tech can't really be beaten obviously but when rotations or market unease happens then defence is a more stable sector for your money.
AMD has a very bright future, I wouldn't recommend a defence stock over AMD by any means. I just think having a chunk of portfolio in defence (especially since it's at discount prices currently) is a nice security. Plus, if a war happens or events take place where the market goes down and defence goes up, you can sell defence to buy cheap tech.

basically if you want to try it, have some kind of real thesis for why you think it will actually 4x or whatever. consider forming a thesis for why it might at least double, at which point you can sell half to cover your initial investment and let the rest ride. if you don't have a fundamental reason for why it would go up this much in that time frame, don't buy the stock. catalysts (news events) and the hype surrounding them are usually the main factor behind this.

worst case scenario, if they DO reverse split, sell that shit immediately, like in the pre market immediately. it always goes down after that (and you usually can't short it because these stocks are almost always HTB)

It really depends on how high the first pump goes. I'm sure lots of investors are aware of MN but they want to see the economic report before investing.
