Why did the governemnt ever allow stablecoins to exist in the first place? We do so much deliberation on monetary policy and then along comes Tether basically manipulating the currency.

The dollars on of our best methods to manipulate other countries and now the demand for it is being eaten away by Tether. Am I missing why the Fed is allowing a company to basically counterfeit bills?

5 years later a chink exchange starter BRR printing a stablecoin to pump btc so they could unload it at higher prices, repeat. They do the same with alt shitcoisn too. Biggest market manipulation seen. In 2017 tether was just 5% of the trade volume and now it's 70%, they are pumping it to insane levels to exitscam and rugpull billionaire investors.

Tether killed crypto and they'll financially ruin millions of clueless normies this year.
