Is anyone else here sticking with Palantir because they like the technological slavery?

The programs look nice and look like a dystopian command center and I just really don’t like the idea of Big Brother and authoritarianism being gone. Not to mention since they haven’t crashed below IPO they’re not going to fucking die with all the new terrorists that are coming out soon, like migatards.

Or are these not expiring this month?
Because if they aren't and you try to sell a shit load of them people will notice and will probably adjust their short stock fee or dividend to accommodate for someone selling so much

i was the anon in the previous thread who worked as an engineer at a tier 1 RYCEY supplier for their turbine business.

I don't really know their financials but the reality is that like 1/3rd of the planes in the sky run on RYCEY engines. The engine they plan on releasing in 2025 is going to have at least 10% better fuel burn than anything else in the industry, and fuel burn is absolutely everything in the economics of air travel. This engine (Trent Ultrafan) is also going to be several years ahead of their competitors: Pratt & Whitney was first to market with a geared turbofan, but as a result they didn't push the limits to the extent rycey is, and the other turbine manufacturers are chinese, indian, russian, or irrelevant.

If rycey can weather the current storm then they will be positioned with the most powerful and fuel efficient jet engine in the world during a time when aircraft manufacturers are going to probably start looking to build another aircraft like the dreamliner or A320neo, aka, a long-haul, composite-based, lightweight aircraft that needs a powerful&fuel efficient engine to shorten takeoff runs (enables shorter, lower drag wings, and higher flight altitudes) and enable longer flights and lower costs.

The development cycles for the engines can take 7-10 years so I believe that rolls will be able to maintain their position at the top for at least that long.

However, I don't know anything about their financials. for whatever reason I can't get them through my broker so i didn't buy in.

As for their small modular reactor stuff; SMRs have some promise but only after a lot of regulatory hurdles and marketing is done successfully. I have no doubts they could engineer a great reactor design but they have to find the right market for it.

i mean, a significant amount of their revenue comes from selling spares and wear parts for turbines. turbines have a lot of wear parts; everything is designed with a lifespan in flight hours and airlines are legally required to follow replacement schedules & document it otherwise they are liable to get absolutely skullfucked if planes crash. a fuckload of planes have been grounded all year, so their revenue from maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) would be way lower. Also, tons of airlines probably cancelling tentative plane orders and dropping sales forecasts.

They are one of the biggest industrial conglomerates in britain and a national pride type thing so i can see them getting bailed out until things get back to normal, but this year was probably crippling for them.

You both make good points. Yes all aircraft related corps will suffer from this but depending on if rycey has shit financials (i'm not kidding when i say i know nothing, i don't research stocks i can't buy" a falling tide is gonna beach the lowest ship first. or something like that.

as for brexit; it wouldn't affect RR too much on the sales side. Planes are built by airbus and boeing with bare wings; airlines pick the engines based on who haggles the best and who has best fuel burn. (RR would definitely take a hit from any euro suppliers getting hit with tariffs, but they're a big enough UK firm that they can probably just suck the right dicks in parliament to get them dropped). Pratt's engines actually had a fuel burn advantage on the a380 over rolls-royce but Emirates airlines picked rolls' engines for a chunk of their planes for business reasons.

The economics surrounding civilian plane engines are actually crazy. I'm talking arab airline CEOs being flown to remote swiss lodges with hookers and cocaine for business deals. When each engine runs $46 mil with lifetime maintenance support and you only sell like 90 of them after a ten year multi-billion dev campaign, the haggling gets pretty insane.

I don't think you understand how sudden and complete the paradigm shift will be when Starship flies it's first commercial customer. 100 tons, to any orbit, for a couple million dollars. SpaceX can take a 90% margin and still be cheaper than any other rocket, and carry ten times the payload of almost any commercial rocket. Since we can't invest in SpaceX, the next best thing is investing in the payload operators and manufacturers who suddenly have 10x more weight to play with for 10x less cost.

how do you trade on asian exchanges if the minimum lot size makes the minimum invested amount too high

i.e. a stonk requires a lot of 100 shares which translates to 4000 eur in total. that's a lot.
