So anyways, the money you're talking about would get me about 8 mid range apartments (modern tho, but not luxury ofc), buy yourself a house or an apartment, buy more apartments to rent, live off of that, BUT invest into a hobby, if you don't have one explore, take some time cause you can have all the money you want, if you don't have something that genuinely makes you wake up in the morning excited for it happening in the day you will be miserable. Good luck in everything and be careful with women, be badass, don't buy them shit, don't ever invest more than one cup of coffee for a woman or you're gonna get used. Cheers!

When it comes to crypto, the strategy is simple: earn as much possible so you can invest as much as possible in 1, 2, or maybe 3 coins while their valuation (market cap) is still low. Monitor the news, ensure the projects and teams are doing their job and things are moving along well. If you had good picks, you should get good returns in a few years. If something goes horribly wrong with a pick, learn to accept the loss and try again. The difficulty is obviously finding a good coin while it's still low. The bear market was painful but also an amazing opportunity to take the time to research and accumulate a number of good projects at bargain prices. This is much more difficult to do now that we've entered a bull market, but some alts are still fairly low (BTC has pumped hard but not all ALTS followed).
Some coins to look into:
PNK (see https://medium.com/the-definancier/the-subjectivity-problem-39bdd2704cb3))
QNT (stellar team, solving a fundamental problem - interoperability, working with SIA https://www.sia.eu/en/media-events/news-press-releases/quant-network-and-sia-successfully-tested-blockchain-interoperability?fbclid=IwAR3CwuPF0CJrTC2wFS4kaGHwl7F2SbfUXtykqQt4_K6C-5uRrmVF0B_wqxQ))
FTM (this one is a bit more tricky, tech is good but not sure how adoption will pan out. Things are moving on with Afghanistan however - which is a good start - and they seem to be involved with the UAE: https://ai.gov.ae/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Blockchain_EN_v1-online.pdf))

Ultimately I'm just trying to help but nobody knows the future so you need to do your own research, take your pick and keep up to date in case one of your holds needs to be switched out.

The other main way to make it without crypto that I can think of is to create your own business, e.g. you can build a web app or mobile app and if it's successful then one day perhaps you sell it or go public and you're a main shareholder as a founder / co-founder.

Good luck

There’s another guy in this thread who already shared his similar experience. You can talk to countless divorced guys and many of them will share a similar experience. I woke up one day to her and the kids gone and all the money cleaned out of our account. The night before she kissed me good night and told me she loved me. We rarely fought and when we did we communicated and worked it out. I was in good physical shape and well groomed so I did the best I could to stay physically attractive, I worked from home a lot of the time and we were about equal in terms of child raising and household duties, and we still went out together to do something new every couple weeks. She filed a restraining order which the court immediately granted so I never even saw her again even during the very brief divorce proceeding. Never got a reason. Found out she remarried less than a year after leaving. I know dozens of men that have experienced something like this.

A whore at lunch with the partners. Coke over filing periods to keep going. A kinky whore at night. Weekends in Macau saunas. Hotel cum full service spas with facials/massages/good quality food, and a free whore in three different classes (local, exotic, and model tier). They even have rooms where you enjoy the local roast goose while a less hot whore (usually flips) jerk you off like a fluffer for your bull run.

European whores in Central. Snorting ketamine off a doninatrix’s ass and k holing into gorgeous feeties. Then sex with her cuz she’s a whore too. Turn down offers from whores to be your girlfriends.

Spend it on good food too. 100usd a meal. Consooom in the time you have.

I’m not mentioning fulfilling stuff we enjoy. Learning, reading, enjoying your city life and diners and knowing people. The assumption is that your hours are crap for that pay at your age. So spend the money on the good life for a bit.

I topped out at 10k/month expenses (excluding rent, visas, bills) and company stipends ($800 for bars and food). I was 24-25. I will never forget those days. Never do it again though, i have a fiancée now.

I work in legal. Dude, it’s true. Even the remarrying within a year shit. I meet male clients sometimes on a file and the first reaction is usually shock. Obviously discounting the 60 year fat white guy with his 30 yo wife. But marriage is really 50/50 nowadays, from an outsider perspective. Obviously I think I’ve found the one too...and that she’s never fuck me up

ah, fuckin' quant life, takes me back

I remember when a fat jew whose software we were licensing took me and some other Goldman folks out to dinner for "client relationship building"; there were six of us at that dinner and the check came out to over $1,500 after tip; he spent the whole dinner bragging about being a corporate raider in the '80s: hostile takeovers of technology hardware companies, followed by a mass-firing of the scientists, followed by jacking up the price of their products

and boy do I have cocaine stories

This is the way. When you have the freedom to work on your own schedule, work doesn't seem like work anymore. Especially if it's something you enjoy doing. Working for someone is where it becomes a pain in the ass.

Yeah. I think those days are slowly passing though. 80s M&A would have been Gomorrah, smoking bankers and steakhouses (HK does not have good ones), coke, whores. I managed to catch the tail end of the IPO boom years (loss making coys listing). But now all the financial centers are dying...or I’m getting old.

Nowadays the more exciting client parties I have are karaoke joints with Asian businessmen with hostesses you can take home. No more drugs, no more cigars on sky scrapers, no more corporate stipends for “expenses”, no more coming into the office at 12 in ytd’s clothes.

As I said you will learn in time just how insane divorce laws are. Your wife does not need a reason, let alone evidence. If she wants a restraining order she will be granted it. This is just another thing nobody told me about before it happened to me.

Tbh you’d only ever achieve this life for a short period (too tiring and empty)while working for someone else. If you are tied to your company or name, it’s be hard to blow such fat stacks you could have plowed back into the baby you founded or even be so degenerate with your time.

>>25657599
Not entirely true. Mostly true though. /biz/ likes to paint the picture that working for someone else is like wagie Womack at Amazon or an executive level position a la Office Space. Professionals get to make their own time as long as you hit billables, professionals working in-house even more so. My second job is legal counsel for a blockchain start up. I set my own quarterly OKRs and tasks, have some routine checks for contracts and generally sit around all day doing nothing. Full remote too like most IT start ups. If I go full time instead of consultant, I could travel and learn and do my own shit and still see money coming in. Even in my law firm role, as long as I bill out 3-4 hours a day I can generally not come into the office and do my own thing. I DO agree though that it’s a pain in the ass to bill out 500/hour and less than a k a day, or to see your salary be a micro fraction of the coy ARR. But the partners and CEO takes the risk. My goal is to put money in my pocket and set up my risk reward exchange in stocks/crypto so I am not trading labour for money (which all business owners do. They’re slaves to their suppliers/clients/wtv).
