Counting inflation, that means gold lost value at the same rate as the USD did. over the last 8.3 years.) I know, I looked at selling some of my Maples back then. Could've gotten $1792 IIRC. I think people (the elite, anyway) have finally become collectively smart enough to conceptualize value as something arbitrarily abstract, but concrete in the sense that there needs to be "work" or "effort" put into the system.

So, mining and refining gold is no different conceptually to grading a civilizations ability to mine crypto tokens; any country population clever enough to mine these things has proven they have the cultural and technological sophistication necessary to out compete, at least theoretically, their competition.

You could make countries compete to see who can make the most pink paint, or find the shiniest pebbles, it doesn't' really matter. Crypto is the gold of the future.

there is no crisis
we are still on the gravy train of QE and low interest rates so investors don't seek safety, they seek extreme risk for extreme reward
interest rates are like gravity - high interest rates puts liquidity in banks to collect safe returns, low interest rates forces liquidity to seek returns in riskier and riskier places

once the crisis actually comes interest rates will spike and QE will go into overdrive in an attempt to stop the rise, however the QE will just make the currency more worthless, causing investors to demand higher interest rates, resulting in more QE and that is when liquidity will run down Exters pyramid into gold until governments restructure their currencies

I don’t mind holding a little bit of silver and gold but no one needs more than a few ounces of gold to diversify there portfolio and keep as an emergency fund of sorts, thats all I see the metals as, so I will keep buying a little bit every once in a while. Also notice how I didn’t say everyone needs silver, as soon as silver goes up to a price where I can make a decent profit I’m selling every last troy ounce that I bought and putting the money towards literally anything else, I don’t know how /pmg/ fags can argue that silver holds it value over time when gold has consistently done like a (albiet very slow and safe) 20x since the 70s while silver has hit all time highs in the 80s as well as the ‘10s, people say its undervalued but really its shit
