I would probably make a tails USB, only connect your hardware wallet to that, and only use it to send funds to an intermediary wallet with the amount you intend to spend, I think that will save you from any possible software attacks

No, they are unironically god-tier wallets if you don't fuck up. The wallet doens't ever leave the Ledger, NEVER. And it generated when you opened for the first time and saved the seeds on your metal plate, so it's literally impossible to get the seed other from the metal plate.

If you want to even feel safer you can sign your transactions on Electrum on a air gapped PC and later broadcast the transaction on another PC.

Ive been using my Ledger since launch. Unfortunately they got my Email in the leak but I ordered to a someone else's address under a different name. I've never had anything stolen and by the nature of hardware wallets noone ever should unless someone gets your seed somehow. That said, if I had over maybe 500k usd in crypto I'd move to an airgapped paper wallet. The biggest risks are the ol' monkey wrench or one of these companies having a backdoor in their devices to pull a huge scam. The later is very, very unlikely, but for that reason I'd move to paper wallets for storing anything high six figures or above

Argent has a software wallet that doesn't use seed words. Funds are locked in a smart contract with withdrawal limit you set and takes 48 hours to change. You can set up to 3 guardians to co-approve any transfers. They can be family or alt emails. Seems pretty solid.

Not that Bank of America will take my money, but the money will get lost. There is no password and device linked to my BOA account that if it gets lost I could be completely fucked. My seed is encrypted and hidden inside my home. I carry a gun and don't tell anyone about either (the gun or the crypto). If I discovered Id been robbed while I was gone I should be able to move my crypto to new wallets before they figure out my encryption. If Im being held then Im fucked no matter what.
