Cashing out at 10k. Seeing BTC and ETH dominance is making me doubt alts. After i ride eth i may just put throwaway money in alts. A lot of them just arent worth it

Weird place to cash out.
It had clearly bottomed at that level.
My buy in were from $125 - $220, feb 2019 - sept 2019.
Average buy in price probably around $200, put $100K.

Not impossible, if Ethereum can take over a sufficiently large size of the derivative market and ETH is used as collateral.

Another option would be that Ethereum simply dwarf Bitcoin in usability and eats the "store of value" use case from Bitcoin.

There are some less likely scenarios as well where Ethereum gain a lot of smaller use cases such as identity, more traditional finance, shared computing.

$40K within 4 - 7 years is unlikely, but maybe 5 - 10 %.
