Even if Tether does collapse there are many stablecoins today not just limited to Tether like it used to be, Tether printing alone can't inflate BTCs spot price by any significant amount.

It's not just collective faith, with DeFi loans, Tether becomes actually pegged to all other currencies. If Tether goes down, the Tether interest goes up as people pull Tether out. With Tether interest going up Tether loaners buy back Tether to repay debts, unless they actually bank on Tether going to 0 and don't give a shit about interest going to 1 million percent.

The daily (real) volume of shitcoin is ~4-5 billion USD. If you add $100 million then that is easily enough to make the price go up with a couple of percent. It is all a matter of timing really. Buy when volume is enough and you can start a rally. Since the exchanges are unregulated they can even trade tether between different accounts they themselves control, no one would notice and no one would redeem tethers for dollars. I don’t think there have ever been a market as corrupt and manipulated as the crypto market. It is totally unregulated.

This is what really happens:
1. Ifinex is ordered to seize and desist
2. Ifinex assets are frozen
3. USDT trade is stopped/frozen

There now exists no USDT in the Bitcoin trade, and there is a massive freeze of traders capital held in USDT.

Bitcoin now must go through other stablecoins, but there are only a few billion worth of stablecoins, to further worsen the situation, holders of other stablecoins cash out to dollars out of fear Tethers problem will spread to other stablecoins.

We have a liquidity crisis, there are many sellers but hardly any buyers. The price for btc and other crypto collapses as 500 billion worth of shitcoins compete for a few billion worth of stablecoins. In matter of hours the price have collapsed with 50 %. Crypto exchanges closes trade in order to prevent systemic dollar outflow, it turns out, many exchanges have no liquidity, they have stolen money from customers accounts.

Upset shitcoiners fill reddit, 4chan and other social media, why is this happening? Mass suicides follow as news reach them that the exchanges are insolvent and have been ransacked. All this time these unregulated exchanges siphoned money from customers.

Head offices of exchanges are raided, it turns out that they like Bitfinex doesn’t exist on the adress stated. They were only so called shell companies. Yes this is true. Bitfinex is supposed to be HQ:ed in HongKong but when searching for their office there is no office to be found. It is a shell.

The exchanges have their accounts frozen by authorities. We have another Mt Gox, only far worse. Big headlines in media. Your work colleges know you bought crypto, and feel so sorry and embarressed for you that they are afraid to ask you how things are, but you can tell from the look in their eyes the sense of pitty they feel for you. You drink to soften your sorrow, but there is no escape from the harsh reality, you lost everything, you were the fool, we tried to save you, but you didn’t let us.

> Ah, this pleb doesn’t know that usdc, busd, pax and others are audited and they would expand to take that market cap off tether if they imploded,
The opposite will happen. When Tether collapses investors will cash in their stablecoins for real money, if that is even possible, it’s fully possible exchanges just closes all operations and run with the money.
>which they won’t as tether has the money
Don’t be stupid. Tether/Ifinex doesn’t even have a proper bank, yet you believe they have $21 billion dollars?
>even if they’re stopped they would just ease people over to something else
This is what happens. NYAG will ask the court to order Ifinex to seize and desist all operations. This means exchange of tether to USD and Bitcoins. In one instant all those 21 billion USDT will be frozen.
> he actually believes a stable coin has a fixed supply like btc kek
Nope
> The large exchanges are friends anon, they’d work it out ahead of time as it’s the exchanges that would get cuckd the hardest
The exchanges will run with the money, you see all dollars paid into exchanges sit on accounts controlled by the exchanges.

Even if it goes down I moved all my money I had on tether to BUSD. I keep that money on Binance anyways.
The market has been gradually moving out of USDT because everyone knows it is a ticking bomb, but with enough stall and room for the other stablecoins to absorb the market, it won't do any major/longterm harm. USDC, DAI and BUSD will chew enough of it. They have been doing it already.

1. The tethers are not backed by any dollars
2. Ifinex will be ordered to seize and desist all trade in tether, so you won’t be able to buy or sell tether.
3. Nobody will want to buy your tether from you, so you won’t be able to switch to a alternative stablecoin.
4. The tether crisis will spread to other stablecoins sparking a major liquidity squeeze.
5. As the price of Bitcoin collapses exchanges will close down because they can’t handle the large volume of withdrawal.

When this happens you will be caught for good. The only way to protect yourself from this storm is to cash out and leave the exchanges.

>5.
Everything might crash, but then it wouldn't be much worse than the covid crash. Exchanges freeze USDT pairs and prop up or replace them for USDC pairs, we get a huge discount while everything moves to it. If any exchange is having lots of reserves in USDT instead of cash, they deserve to disappear. Same for people holding too much of it, and also having lots of their net worth on tether.
No matter how doomed you try this to make it look, we would have a short term shitshow in exchange for the most bullish scenario in the longterm. USDT, as XRP, is one of the most poisoned shit on crypto at the moment. I'd gladly take a year of depression in the market in exchamge for tether disappearing altogether.

Yeah, i think so anon. Remember bitfinex IS tether inc. the tether/btc pair started there. The exchange 100% can make the market if they are printing the dollars.

>Buy btc with tether on the buy side at ath's
>Sell into the sell side for actual dollars

Now if they are using those actual dollars to finance tether backing it would be pretty fucking smart and possibly not even illegal.

Send them to a personal account in the Bahamas? Regardless what they did with the money it is obvious they don’t have $21 billion, so in january shit will really hit the fan. It is real this time. I don’t understand why people ignore the 1.4 trillion dollar federal RICO case that is soon approaching. I don’t know why people think the US government will allow a foreign 3rd party to mint 1:1 US dollars when the right to print dollars, crypto or otherwise, belongs to the US government. I don’t know why people think “they haven’t done anything yet” ever could possibly mean that nothing will happen in the future, especially when court dates are set. I don’t know why people think “the United States has no jurisdiction,” when history proves how that has never once stopped them before. I don’t know why people favor listening to their emotions rather than a logical assessment of the situation and potential hypotheticals.

When the world adopts crypto, which is taking place right now, all the Wild West shenanigans are going to stop. Tether is going away, my friend. There is no doubt in my mind, it is the fuckiest thing of all and they have no legal basis for anything they’re doing. Guys what scares me about the tether lawsuit is that things like the SEC are filled with boomers who still think the internet is a series of tubes. They are probably told by their peers "go fuck up this stable coin shit so fedcoin has a way in". Doubt they give a fuck about if any laws were broken. Government is literally just favor trading power hungry boomers told what to do by the eternal boomer god. They just want more millenials to sacrifice for the pension, SS, gibbedat money.
