25294993 No.25294993 [Reply] [Original]

SEC declined to approve BOX trading data from utilizing the ETH blockchain due to fears of INACCURATE DATA FEEDS THAT CANT STAY UP TO DATE.
This is literally the SEC saying Chainlink is neccesary. This is it boys. There has never ever been a bigger signal of imminent LINK adoption. All it would take is a BOX partnership and we could see the SEC approve a LINK based fucking stock exchange. And since BOX is already trying to be Eth based and is now going to have to find a quality data feed, who the fuck else are they going to be talking to.

On the other hand, I can clearly understand the value in the link token and the network itself from listening to sergey talk for a few minutes.

Yes. It's fantastic that LINK is so far behind in cap to the other top 10 coins. It's fucking awesome that it's 30+% away from regaining its old place. Be careful. This could turn into a NEO situation. Once a coin or token falls far from grace, it cannot gain high enough daily volume to break free of wash traders and scammers. No one will be the one to burn their stack to break their grip.

I'm actually more qualified to talk about this than most anons.I'm employed with a cyber-techno machinations company, I do a lot of security analyst programming type work. Open source, decentralized, APIs, partnerships, you name it. We'd be one of the first companies in line for something like Chainlink, if the decentralized smart contract space had more value over traditional data exchanges. There's a catch though, an underlying flaw more deeply embedded in the bedrock of LINK than the very code itself. The flaw is with the concept, and it's this: Companies won't actually go through the hassle of trusting their data API's through crypto.
Now I can already hear your keyboards going frantic, but hear me out. /biz/ hates banks, and traditional data providers. But actual companies, businesses, and investors do not. There's an old saying you might have heard of: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!". The idea that any of our bosses would give us the go ahead if we approached them to put our companies valuable data in a smart contract on a cryptocurrency called Chainlink, that they've never heard of, we'd be laughed out at best and fired on the spot at worst. We already have API data buyers and providers we trust.
'But Chainlink is trustless!' I hear you cry, but is that really a good thing? Just listen to the sound of it. Businesses don't want to spend millions of dollars on something that is trustLESS, they want something trustFUL. 'But the reputation system!', doesn't that defeat the whole point of your coin? If companies only trust nodes with high reputation, what's the difference between trusting banks and data providers that already have reputation, but in real life not on a computer screen.
The fact is, LINK is going to share the same fate as ETH will. A lot of 'real world application' hype, with a lot of 'crypto world application' reality. Only, this billion supply coin isn't going to come close to the $1k that Etherum hit. Happy gambling though anons.

It effects the possibility of speculators retiring off of their "wise" investments. We're providing a price floor for token development but it's absolutely asinine to think that we'll see a great ROI from here if LINK slips to where some institution would have to be willing to burn 10s of millions to shatter the grip of manipulators should the token fall out of favour.

It's cool that you get off simping for Sergey though and derive such pleasure from LINK's continued development.

>> No.25301432

holy shit you desperate losers are still doing the breadcrumb thing? How many "breadcumb" threads have there been where nothing came of them, it must be in the hundreds, your coin has had years of development with 100s of millions of dollars going to the developers and nothing to show for it, link is pathetic and anyone who still believes in it are like the schizo XRP bagholders who think it will come back.
