25282823 No.25282823 [Reply] [Original]

Welp /biz/. Its been a wild ride. I'm finally cashing out. I'm 26 now, 4 years ago I bought around $60,000 of bitcoin after living frugally in college, working my ass off, and siphoning cash off my loans. Last summer I sold off like 8% of my holdings and bought a brand new Porsche 911. Today I'm selling my entire holding of ~117BTC for $3.08m. Going to pay off the remainder of my student loans, buy my parents a modest home, and buy a home for myself and my fiancee. No more anxiously watching the charts 365 days a year.

$3.4M is my sell point so here's what I would do with it:
>cash out $2.4M
>$400k for the tax man
>$2M to put into revenue producing assets (divvy stocks and municipal/corporate bonds)
>that $2M gets me about $100k/yr pretax, or $80k/yr after tax income to play with
>I can now qualify for any mortgage I want
>I can now qualify for any credit card I want
>I never have to work a day in my life

The buying power of the currency you are about to sell into is going to drop fast. I totally agree that $100k-$150k is a great sell price but dear lord man just wait, I PROMISE it is the correct decision.

Like I said, take the early retirement pill. There's blogs all over the internet, I like Mr. Money Mustache. It depends on what your target passive income is, which you can reduce by keeping your expenses low. I want to travel, so I think $80k/yr is sufficient for that since I'm not addicted to luxury anyway.

Frankly, even if I became obscenely wealthy, I still wouldn't be able to become upper class. Look at what happened to Notch. If I wanted to become upper class I'd have to not only become obscenely rich, I'd have to marry into the class which is a lot of BS I simply don't want to put up with.

The dude said he wanted to buy his parents a house and buy a house for his fiancee. That's $1.5 million right there. Then he'd only be able to pay himself a $30,000 salary if he want to spread that money out for another 50 years. He'd be way better off keeping his money in BTC where it appreciates like crazy, while the US dollar inflates off to worthlessness.

Remember, we're hedging against the US dollar funny money business. The Federal Reserve knows its on its last legs and printed 20% of all US dollars in existence. Big institutions know this, hence why they were buying whales' bags at $20K. And of 4chan knows this because we're filled with autists who know how to create memes to feed the masses like pic related.

OP is just being retarded, specifically being arrogant and impatient. If he would cool off for a moment and humble himself, he would recognize now is not a good time to cash out and he could wait a year before he could buy a house directly in BTC. No need to cash out.

Since you have $10K to your name, either hedge your wealth with BTC or invest in ETH or Link. You only stand to lose if you keep your money purely in US dollars.

I know I can get out and not look back knowing I got lucky and turned 60k->3m. BTC is up $16k in the last 3 months. The highest its ever been. Am on the edge of doing the same. But like this other anon recommends, I'm thinking to only cash out half. I have held since 2013 and my hands became iron claws some time ago... but I'm tired bros. I'm tired of the swings, the uncertainty. I'm gonna buy a house and a dog. It's time to diversify into comfiness, especially since we're soon to enter the "Then they fight you" stage, clear as day. I believe there's still significant upside but I sure as fuck want some insurance. And some peace of mind. It's amazing to have those big green dildo days on a fat stack, but it's crippling to watch a "made it" amount on paper crumple back into the shadows of the bear cave. Satoshlets don't know those feels. Good on you for having taken a ballsy risk that paid off. And clearly, judging by this thread, we're not all gonna make it. But some of us have, and will. Vale.

I actually thought about this. Since I intend to work (IF THIS MEME ECONOMY EVER PICKS UP AND I CAN GET MY DECENT OFFICE JOB BACK) I don't need to have a billion dollaridoos all at once, so if the bullrun takes my crypto assets on a wild 100x ride I'd probably part with 20-30% purely so I wouldn't feel like a retard if it dumped 90% (because 20% is better than 0% realized gains on a million+ unrealized gains) and would continue holding the rest.
