just found out something really fucked up

lets say you start out with $100. and you land a 3x, that is a 300% increase. you then have $300, right? now lets say you fuck up, and have a 90% loss... you then are left with only $30. thirty fucking dollars. what the fuck? how is that possible? how is a 90% of something more than 300% INCREASE? i finally understand why crypto is a scam now, and they like show everything in percentages... the math is against us
