I personally believe one of the strongest strategies is to buy drama dips like this, and game development studios have some of the biggest drama dips. CDPR has survived this identical situation before. They shit out a buggy disaster to the horror of everyone, and within 2 years you can't find a bad word about them anywhere because they know how to recover a fumble. I don't even know if you can call it a fumble anymore, this is just their business strategy apparently.

Sit back and watch as zoomers move on to the next thing and articles find new gossip. CDPR will fix up the game. They'll re-win their good graces by adding free content, releasing great expansions, and relentlessly expanding the IP.

If you know anything at all about CDPR, I'm sure you remember The Witcher 3's level of success. Increased book sales. Netflix series. That was the test run for CP2077.

Activision/Blizzard is a publisher that owns dozens of development studios, online cashcows (service), etc.
CDP is insanely overvalued considering they're a single development team that has only released 4 games, and really only W3 made it big. They also have GoG which has its own little niche but is still small time compared to Steam.
They have nothing else lined up for the next few years. Working on a single AAA project takes half a decade of dev time. AND they will still need to spend all of 2021 just to finish/fix this one due to the clusterfuck before they can even start working on sequels with reused assets to cushion the losses.
It sold well but refunds are fucking them up and more importantly, their reputation as a top tier AAA studio has been utterly destroyed and the work environment is apparently JUSTd beyond words, between all the sjw hires and crunch fiascos.
They'll keep devolving into a more and more souless entity, will have to release a half assed multiplayer and rushed sequels in the next five years to stay afloat while working on new projects that will also inevitably fail to deliver, probably forcing themselves to shit out a rushed Witcher 4, etc.
Activision, EA, Ubisoft, etc all have a large catalog of releases and franchises, CDP doesn't, they are far more fragile. This will fuck them up big time.
