not saying rolex is worth the premium (in many cases, it's not and there are better watches for cheaper), but a real mechanical watch will last a very long time with proper servicing and will be able to be resold for about the same cost you buy for, specifically if you buy on the grey market, and especially if you buy a rolex/other brand that is at a premium
