Bottom line is that there will be TWO prices for XRP.
One set by FI’s for liquidity.
One set by traders on exchanges.
Only one will grow authentically and the other will be -only- for the rest of us to feed off scraps.

>well, it's a foregone conclusion that the price is going to skyrocket because even a moron can see that this is going to be the backbone of the new digital economy and it's already widely adopted by the most powerful institutions in the world, so i will pull some random conjecture about two different prices out of my ass in an attempt to convince retards that this isn't the best chance to get rich they will ever have

https://dailyhodl.com/2020/12/15/ripple-plans-to-leverage-payments-platforms-and-xrp-ledger-for-delivery-of-central-bank-digital-currencies/

Ripple is actively planning on offering central banks a toolset that will enable them to implement various forms of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), according to Ross Edwards, the company’s global head of client solutions.

In a recent Ripple presentation, Edwards highlights the company’s suite of cross-border payment products and enterprise solutions for financial institutions, and he says the company plans to take those developments into the public sector world.

“We’re able to further leverage this technology as infrastructure suited to the exploration, ideation and eventual delivery of a fully functional CBDC.”

The presentation shows that Ripple’s toolset, which includes the XRP Ledger, Interledger Protocol and PayID (now called Paystring), will enable a CBDC project to study technical, functional, and operational outcomes on platforms that are being used in live payments today.

Additionally, the toolset will encourage both private and public sector development of the CBDC ecosystem, according to the Ripple executive.

Edwards says Ripple plans to use an open-source platform that will “be added to and altered based on the specific requirements” of CBDCs and utilized to offer central banks multiple operational attributes like centralized vs. decentralized record-keeping, consensus algorithms, and accessibility/authorization choices. The toolset will also allow central banks to tweak economic and functionality options according to their own requirements.

“Other economic factors down to divisibility of the currency, inflation and interest-bearing aspects, to all those other monetary and fiscal policy impacts can be altered…

1. It was priced in well beforehand.
2. There were a lot of very smart people with the unique idea of swinging the high, so they all put their master plans into effect at the same time (though they weren’t smart enough to see it was already priced in)
3. Bots and weak hands saw the dump and panicked (as well as another set of very smart people with the very unique plan of getting in the snapshot then getting out), which caused a further (almost) dump after the snap.

I don’t think it’s suspicious. Human (and bot) stupidity is all too expected.

Not the guy from the last thread, but I was the original two price guy (bifurcated market - around XSG 98-110, I think).
It’s not fud (despite the above poster being too stupid to understand it).
Basically, it was a theory on how, practically, I would set it up if I was a bank (and I am a derivatives lawyer at a bank, so it’s not all just complete daydreaming). This also explains how, practically, you can flip a switch. The BIS or CCPs would just set the price for their market and keep it there - no candles, just a price change.

The way I would do it is:
have ripple give the BIS or CCPs their bags.
Have banks source their XRP from the BIS or CCPs.
This would benefit them because: (1) you can have a completely stable price - zero fluctuation - as there would be no outside market, (2) it escapes the headache of aml/kyc/ctf issues with retail exchanges, and (3) it ensures constant liquidity (team this up with capital regs that discourage holding of XRP overnight, and you will not have anyone holding for more than a few seconds - and with perfect price stability, they would need to anyway).

This wouldn’t be the end of the day for us though. There would be too much money sitting in retail to not tap into it. So I could see banks offering XRP accounts (and buying that xrp from clients - for a spread - when they want to sell), or third party companies stepping in to bridge the gap (performing the necessary aml/kyc/ctf and buying - at a spread - to sell on to banks for a profit). This would be very easy money, so you could rely on market forces to shrink that spread and bring the retail price closer to the banks’ price.

>> No.24823075

>>24822822
Checked, honestly what the fuck is wrong with this thing?

Why is Jed McCaleb selling all his XRP, he doesn't even have to and gave no specific reasons for it. Only thing he's not allowed to do is selling them all at once?

Why did David Schwartz almost everything way back?

Isn't there something blatantly easy to understand here?

Tumbling tumbling down

>> No.24823109

>>24822802
>>24823051
Also, as far as prices:
The price in the retail market would necessarily be lower. It’ll be the bank price, minus costs of increased kyc/aml/ctf, minus a profit margin.

As above though - you can expect market forces to narrow that difference significantly.

* also a note for the simple: as explained above, this is just my own view of how I would do it. If it frightens you, ignore it. If you disagree, disagree. I’m not saying this WILL happen. I’m saying this is how I personally would set it up.

A bifurcated market does not make sense because it's not how XRP is supposed to work.
example: man transfers usd to pesos
1. man goes to US bank puts in USD
2. bank uses that USD to buy XRP off a crypto exchange.
3. bank sends that xrp to a bank in mexico.
4. bank in mexico sells that xrp to a crypto exchange in mexico for pesos
5. bank gives pesos to the person that's supposed to be receiving the money.

xrp works by connecting and utilizing local crypto exchanges in other countries, the retail market provides liquidity to their local crypto exchanges. How do you suggest a bifurcated market work?

Read your post again. Banks are doing the transferring of XRP between themselves.
So bank A (US) has pesos to send to Bank B (Mex).
Banks A buys XRP for USD from BIS/CCP
Sends XRP to Bank B
Bank B sells XRP for MEX to BIS/CCP

Done. No retail exchanges necessary.
And the benefit is that between Bank A buying and Bank B selling, there would be zero fluctuations in XRP’s price.
(You still, of course have fluctuations in FX rates, but that’s always going to be the case - at least you don’t have any compounding effect from an XRP change)

If the trade was the other way, how does Bank A know that the XRP they were sent was not sourced from cartels?
The aml/kyc/ctf issue with retail exchanges is not an easy one to get over.

(It’s actually positive news that there are rumours of the US regulating self custody wallets, because that might go some way to addressing the issue - but in this scenario, you’d also need Mexico to apply the same laws and to enforce them to the same standard)

whenever you deposit more than 10k into a bank they flag that transaction, there's checks and balances because you're dealing with fiat.
if its cartel money then it literally won't enter the banking system in the first place. 99% of exchanges with fiat on off ramps now require aml/kyc.

what you said with BIS is also retarded, because all you're doing is a makeshift swift system where the BIS is carrying all forms of currency for liquidity. Go look up ripple's own explanation for how their ODL works.
Also why go through the trouble of bifurcated market and just fork XRP into XRP2 a private blockchain where only banks can transact.

>Only thing I'm wondering is does the BIS just have as much usd and mex lying around as needed ?
FX markets are liquid enough that it shouldn’t be a problem. And those Fx markets are predominantly bank markets. So you will have maybe a UK bank that want to buy XRP and also has pesos to sell - trade with them. What you can’t match off, you can source from the Mexican central bank.

>Does it work like this with FIAT too ?
No - Fiat uses nostro/vostro accounts. Basically trillions of dollars worth of foreign currency sitting in accounts for when needed. (Eg you are a US bank but have an Indian account at an Indian bank where you hold Rupees to settle any rupee obligations).

>Aren't they going to have a liquidity problem at some point ?
As above - liquidity shouldn’t be a problem, but can be supported by national central banks.

>What's even the point of having fiat and crypto exchanges then ?
Crypto exchanges are predominantly aimed at retail (for the time being). XRP is not. As far as Fiat exchanges: you have no direct access to the exchanges that banks use. Your intermediary platform does (the FX platform you signed up to), but you don’t (and won’t unless you had 100s of millions).

personally i worry about the same thing- why on earth would they allow us to get rich- but i tell myself that us schizos are such a vanishingly small percentage of the population that all in all we don't pose that much of a thread (or so they think)

alternately, transferring a small amount of wealth to those individuals who were smart/schizo enough to see the writing on the wall could be part of the plan, or part of one faction's plan anyway.

i also don't feel great about buying into the coming technocratic dystopia but i figure i'll be able to make more of an impact if i am wealthy than if i am poor. if you're rich they call it "eccentric" if you're poor you're crazy.

>Whats the difference with nostro vostro accounts if youre just adding XRP as an intermediary ? Seems to you still have huge nostro vostro accounts and now you're exchanging the nostro USD for vostro pesos but with XRP in between.
Nope. No need for nostro/vostro because you can source at the time (in seconds). Bank A doesn’t need a Mex acct, because bank B (the Mex bank) is the one that’s sourcing the pesos (all bank A sends is XRP). As far as sourcing the pesos - see above: liquid FX markets, central bank liquidity, CCP collateral - there are a few options.

>Why do they need nostro vostro if they can just trade FX currencies ?
At present, if I have an obligation due T+5, I need to have pesos in that account by T+4. Which means I have to source the pesos T+2 (because of settlement times). If I have a contingent obligation, likewise, I need to have pesos sitting there in case it comes up. With XRP, the T+2 settlement time is not a problem for Bank A: it’s already settled it’s obligation in XRP.

>All of this starts to make no sense to me. Actually since its just digital numbers in accounts I've never understood why it cant just work like email or anything else on the internet. Why can't they just decrease the numbers on one account and then increase them on the other and call it done.

I have a small stack left that I will probably keep no matter what.
I get the feeling that this "central bank digital currency" thing and everything people read into it is turning out to be nothing more than a meme for the foreseeable future.
Fiat and the US dollar as the reserve currency could reign supreme for longer than most have imagined even while the world is seemingly entirely transitioning into the digital age.
At one point, when no one is looking and no one is caring any more, some switch will be flipped and the inner workings of finance will run on an alternate system that it does today with the outside world barely taking any notice.
The flipping of the switch will not be televised.
Nothing ever happens still holds true.

Consumer doubt. Having something established, well-known, something that people heard off before and have known for years to be reliable and secure, is better than something no one's heard off before. Especially a "copy" (fork).

Moving to a new financial infrastructure might set off a lot of people to withdraw their money from banks based on fear and doubt.

Fucking over millions of people worldwide with something like that wouldn't just be a PR nightmare, it'll disturb the global economy (with millions of people withdrawing from banks) which they're already trying to improve with this transition, not fuck with it.

Ripple is making a toolkit for central bank bureaucrats who are investigating CBDCs. this toolkit will involve products like the XRP Ledger, interledger protocol, and digital ID systems. presumably this will allow smaller countries to tailor their CBDCs to their specific needs using analytic tools native to the Ripple ecosystem

>but anon why is this good for XRP? will this make me rich? can you hep me tie me shoelace?

you see anon, if countries build their digital currency using Ripple's tools, they are much more likely to utilize XRP as part of the on-demand liquidity technology when making settlements into and out of their digital currency from other currencies. so, for example, if I am the central bank of Tonga, and I make a Tongan Digital Cowry Shell currency, and I want to transfer remittances from the small but influential Tongolese population in Zanzibar, rather than having the Zanzibarian Tongolese go through the lengthy and expensive process of routing payments through larger currencies (like is currently done with SWIFT) Ripple's products can help set up a payment rail between those currencies, using their On Demand Liquidity pool to ensure that the remittances are done quickly, and more importantly, at low cost to the users, so that I may purchase my coconuts and strum my ukelele as a proud Tongan- and a citizen of the digital economy and Internet of Value

how would it be a PR nightmare, another company can copy the xrp ledger system and make it bank only, similar to how jpm made a private version of ethereum that only banks are allowed to use. Do you see a ethereum peasant uprising? no, its open source tech. They either use their system as they've stated, or they can send someone to secretly copy xrpl and make it bank use only

"Obviously, being human, it is awkward, but not impossible to mate in open water. It is easier to have the dolphin in a shallow area (like the shallows just off the beach) around 1 1/2 to 2 feet deep. This is usually comfortable enough for both the dolphin and you. Gently, you should roll the dolphin on her side, so she is lying belly-towards you. You can prop yourself up on an elbow, and lie belly to belly against her. You may want to use the other arm to gently hold her close, and place the tip of your member against her genital slit. She will, if interested, arch her body up against you, taking you inside her body. There is usually a fair bit of wriggling and shifting, usually to get comfortable, both outside and inside. Once comfortable, though, females initiate a series of muscular vaginal contractions that rub the entire length of your member. They may also thrust rhythmically against you, so enjoy the experience while you can, since you will rarely last longer than a minute or two. Just prior to her climaxing, she will up the speed of her contractions and thrusts. It is interesting to note that the times I have mated with females, they have timed their orgasm to mine. Whether they do this consciously or not, I do not know, but it is a great feeling to have two bodies shuddering against each other at the one time."

JPM’s coin is not a competitor for ETH, so your whole angle there is wrong. Their coin is designed for internal JPM movements (not other banks).

As far as PR nightmare - after 8 years of getting the tech in place and actually starting to use the tech (BoA, HSBC and others), to suddenly switch coins when it is utterly unnecessary to do so (because they can easily set up what they need with XRP - which setup would be no different to this hypothetical new coin), would ONLY be to fuck over retail (separating the market with XRP doesn’t fuck us - as explained above). That’s not good for PR.

Q6) Where can I find a dolphin to mate with?
A6) Aquariums are a bad choice, for many reasons. Too public, the dolphins are not in their natural habitat, night visits are impossible, etc…some may have external enclosures, which may be accessible, but that is no guarantee. Best thing sometimes is to find a beach or a cove that the dolphins frequent. It takes time to develop a relationship with a dolphin to the point where they will let you mate with them (although some have been as quick as 3 days to acclimatize). Gaining their trust takes time, and you need to visit frequently. This is impossible for some people, I understand, but it is the best way. Sometimes you just need to be in the right place at the right time. I have been extremely lucky on two occasions with wild dolphins, and my current mate is a dolphin who lives in the harbor of my resident city. Well, I hope this is of use to whoever is interested.

Use your common sense. THEY CAN PRINT MONEY AT FREE WILL. Go ask anyone in /smg/ and they will tell you that they can literally fucking see the Fed printing money.

You think this printing doesnt go to the market? It's not just Tether. They control it all.

Why did you buy a 3x pump of XRPoo of all things? It was obvious this shitcoin was going to dump, the fact it held on to 50+ cents for as long as it did is amazing.

Actual TA fag, I got good news and bad news, bad news is we're likely looking to fall a bit further, but I expect massive resistance around .44-.45, which will likely push us into an uptrend where we can retract back to at least .52 - .53, gonna hold off analysis further than that, let's see if we can hold and push back.

anon, go look at the market cap of the top 10 coins. Outside of BTC and its derivatives (Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash) and ETH, how many pre 2016-era coins do you even see?

Why has XRP been the only major pre-2016 era coin to survive multiple crashes and STILL retain top 3 market cap? Even though no one uses it (unlike ETH and BTC).

The bots are just part of the problem I was trying to solve with the split market idea. Basically: how to achieve price stability (the more stable the better). Removing retail in this sense includes both ordinary retail and speculators (anything other than wholesale)

I don't know anon, it looks like other people are looking at this situation and seeing it needs the same type of solution. What I don't think they understand yet is that there is a solution.
