24774979 No.24774979 [Reply] [Original]

What's the point of being rich when you're over 35?
Your prime years are your 20s, once you're over 30 no amount of money can fill the void of not having maximized those years by establishing meaningful relationships to carry on once you're older.
I'm turning 32 this week, I have a house all paid and an apartment that I rent, I'm self employed and I spent my 20s working my ass off. I wasted 6 years climbing the ladder in an accounting firm and now life is fucking miserable despite having a net worth close to 800k.
It's still not /madeit status but it's well beyond what most of this board will achieve in their lifetime.
Let me give you an advice biz, if your life revolves around your investments and financial freedom then no amount of money will replace your youthful years once you're older. No this is not about getting teen pussy or whatever, this is about life experiences that you can only have when you're young.
If you're in your 20s and your top priority is worrying about crypto and stocks then you're not gonna make it regardless no matter the amount of money.
Yes, investing is a must but don't make it take control of your life.
Hope this will give some perspective to some young anons on my path.
Take care of your mental and emotional well being without making money a cope mechanism.
Good luck

Everything you can do in your 20s, you can also do in your 30s. But what you can't do (or not as much) in your 30s is take as many risks as you can in your 20s. Your 20s should be for building your wealth, knowledge and skills for your future, and of course for enjoying life.
I'm 22 and my mind is focused on setting up myself for the future so in 5-10 years I will never have to work again and just enjoy my life. I will still make money for the fun of it but it will be through something I enjoy doing.
You just fucked up big time by only wagecucking and doing nothing else in your 20s man. I enjoy holidays with friends every summer, clubbing, spending time on my hobbies, working out. Just because you couldn't do it because of a weak mindset doesn't mean we can't.

Me 23, managed to convert $2.5k to $12.5k in 4 months. Couldn't sleep well, there were times when I'd be so stressed out I couldn't eat well, spoke up in the middle of the night just to check my investments.
After 4 months I started burping a lot, I passed blood in my stool, the right side of my abdomen hurt a lot now and then, then reflux got real bad, couldn't even make exercise to make it better because the food would always return like undigested, was disgusting. Got diagnosed an stress induced dispepsia, my stomach had a wound inside and had to start a really hard diet to fix it.
Yeah, is not worth it bros, the doctors even told me it could be cancer, that would have meant ALL MY GAINS GONE in 2 or 3 chemos, is not fucking worth it. Right now I make slow and steady gains (still better than boomer stocks) and have no stress problems, yeah I might no be able to become rich like the STUPID CUNTS MOTHERFUCKERS THAT BOUGHT $RFI EARLY OR $KP3R OR $BASE FUCK YOU ALL, but I'm definitely making money and feeling great.

For me, in part was always sacrificing my time and my social life in order to build wealth and advance in my field. I have so many random small episodes where I wish I did something different but unfortunately I had a different mindset where my career was above everything else.
For example I moved to a big Italian city just for a bigger pay check leaving my first gf behind for 2 years while she was still in uni. I just had to take a job in my hometown and things would've turned way different because of that.

>> No.24776572

>>24774979
The grass is always greener. You're 32 and still can't figure out how young you are. You've built enough wealth to retire via passive income and do whatever you want and you're still pining over your 20s. And you're the one giving advice. When you're 42 you're going to be kicking yourself - why did I think I was old when I was 32? When you're 52, same thing. 62, 72, you'll realize how short truly sighted your perspective was. There is no point in which an age means you're old, or you changed. It's arbitrary, some people never grow up. Adulthood is a human construct. A lot of people expect to be changed at a certain age, or through marriage. Nothing changes. It's all in our heads.

Statistically, after 70k/yr people don't get any happier. Money really matters most to those that don't have it. This isn't about your 800k or your accounting job or past. There are questions that you need to start asking yourself that have nothing to do with money. Stop thinking about money. Philosophical questions. Existential questions. Life. Glory. The little things. Peace. Simplicity. The speed of your heartbeats.

There's a reason the US is rated the richest country but scores much lower on life satisfaction. You need to start asking yourself the questions that you've never asked before. You either change your life or you don't. Good luck.

this thread is fucking stupid. have none of you heard of the saying "Don't try until you're 35"? Even if you were a millionaire in your 20s, it wouldn't matter because you would still be locked out certain opportunities and experiences due to your age. The gate keepers of certain circles that you aspire to get into would immediately block your path. This on a micro level can be seen with ferrari purchases. You can't even buy a new model ferrari unless ferrari invites you to purchase one. They do this to prevent dilution to their brand. Money isn't everything, money is just a means to helping you achieve status.

TLDR, You all aspire for status. You cannot gain status from crypto. You can be a millionaire but at the end of the day if you unironically look like a basedjak (and act like an autist), no one is going to let you into those shiny gates.

Eh, I'm 28 and a piece of shit. I gained everything denied to me in my youth due to my abusive upbringing when I was 21. Friends, girls, good grades, freedom. Then they kicked me off my health insurance when I got into a car accident and I lost the entire life I built due to vocal damage and despair. I've worked shit tier jobs since I was 16 and I have no skills. I have nothing but regrets and pain in my past. I don't even know why to try or why I am writing here. I am nothing.

For men that aren't total degenerates and stay in good health, I would say the plateau lasts well into their 50s and only really declines heavily by their 70s, depending on genetics. Protip, college friendships are often just as meaningless as high school friendships by the time you're 40.

If you think your best years are behind you at 32, you're psychologically damaged. 32 was one of the best years of my life. I was financially secure, physically fit an ruled my own world. I'm in my 40's now and have a the whole house, wife and kids thing going on and I still have time and the strength to mountain bike, hike, camp, fish an ski whenever the fuck I want. Pull your head out of your ass and enjoy the best time of your life. My 20's were great but I was a fucking basket case of emotion. The only advantage of your 20's is not having to eat right and exercise in order to participate in certain sports and activities that are physically demanding. You could live off of red bull and vodka in your 20's and still be in good shape. Good luck.

The antinatalist route. Just travel and bang tight asians and have girlfriends in eastern europe.
#1 can do that, but won't appreciate it as much, and will be taken advantage of because they'll definitely be showing off to promote their "influence".
#2 can't even do that unless he tags his family along, which will be very expensive, so that's basically the end of his road.

I was you 6 years ago.

Trust me when I say you are missing two major pieces of the puzzle:
1.) The importance of family. That is, getting married and having beautiful, healthy children (I was avoiding this for the longest time). The whole purpose of wealth is to provide for your family and secondarily other worthy causes/endeavors.

At your stage you think the goal of wealth perhaps is a private jet, hookers and blow. Its not. That will never satisfy you ever.
2.) You are likely in an agnostic/athiestic funk. You are likely under a spell of obsessing over th ematerial. You need to take a break from the electronics so you can cut out the noise and start to pray. Try to purify your life from weakeners like alcohol, drugs, or other addictions and pray.

You may not understand or be able to digest this now but keep it in mind and perhaps in the next 5-8 years itll sink in, inshallah.

You're putting too much faith in the happiness and meaning money/sex/hobbies will bring to your life.

Simple truth that has held true all of human existence is that the only way to bring meaning to your existence is to either be content in your family, or to have a "cause" (a business, a belief, whatever) bigger than you.

If "putting your money to work" actually made people happy, you wouldn't have all these rich trust fund kids and celebrities being absolutely miserable and depressed.

But try talking to someone who has a family he loves, or a cause he truly believes in, and you'll know why that's the only route to "making it" in life

Nah, I'm feeling pretty good as well currently.
And I am just NEETing at this point in time.
I use my time to educate myself on all sorts of things, because knowledge is power.
I don't find it more meaningful to slave away a meaningless existence, not knowing shit about shit and just CONSOOMing and doing as I got told, like 99% of humanity.

However I get your point. A man needs a mission/a bigger goal he can work towards.
Something where he can make a difference. And you are correct. Otherwise you end up miserable in the long run. However this includes the average meaningless wagie job as well.
But just saying "go marry and have kids and you will have a happy life" is absolute fucking dogshit.
Most of the people out there are miserable as fuck. Most women are not worth more than your $50 hooker.
But in general I get what you are saying. It might work, if you find the right partner, and that's awesome.
But it's not as easy as it was 50 years ago.
Just having money and fucking around is obviously no means to an end.
Everybody should have realized that at some point.

Prime years are your 30's and 40's. In your 20's you are legitimately considered a retard by anyone older. You are humored, though, as we were all once there. So you may not notice. People in their 50's and on have done everything twice and laugh at younger people talking about their first experiences. Then you die.

Make the most of it all, dipshit.

Elon used his money to get more hair and now he's fucking a chick young enough to be his daughter. Money makes happiness, who gives a shit if you're 50 and your gf is 30 and people are giving you shit- if you have money you don't have to give a single fuck about anything and can keep fucking that young pussy until your dick doesn't work anymore.

Hugh Hefner proved this.

I'm not saying pass up on pussy if it means that much to you, but you can literally buy it or get it for free so ultimately charisma and money matter more than youth.

Anon, you're underestimating how hard it is to build a family that you can be proud of - how to be a true patriarch.

Most people just larp as a "family". They don't put effort into their relationships. Don't sacrifice. Don't take time to truly understand their own spouses and kids. All on autopilot - just like the rest of their lives.

I have met some true older family men in my life. They had wives who would die for them, kids who would burn down the planet for the family, and grandkids who would mourn them for decades.

That's legacy. And it's damn hard to build.
