I've been reviewing the charts again, and it seems like the market-wide mega alt seasons occur exactly when btc tops out and begins correction/consolidation. Think late december 2017 and late june 2020. Both began almost exactly as btc topped out. LINKBTC has also been fucking annihilated the past several months, which is always what I like to buy in anticipation of an equally irrational rebound.

No I'm not making the effort rn. Just turn on 1d timeframe and note the day that btc topped in dec 2017 and then june 2020. Then find that day in the xrp, link, and other alts. ETH was already rallying all 2017 due to ICO craze so it was following btc a little more closely. in 2020 the alts fall into closer parity and have their mega rally in the summer (when link hit 20), which began the moment btc started consolidating
