Chainlink doesn't have any real competition but the Chinese, U.S., or E.U. governments issuing coins could crash ripple and ripple wasn't meant to be very valuable while Chainlink's token was meant to be "around a cup of coffee," I.e. more than one dai and more than ripple. It's also my understanding that Fantom was built to not be very valuable by design as opposed to Chainlink which both could go up in value and was meant to be valualed as part of an ecosystem and not valued like a digital penny.
