For 99% of WFH:
They will pull the contract card to get you back in, you are contracted to be in an office 9 to 5.
It would require signing a new and adjusted "Terms of employment" which employers won't do when it comes to February/March when things get back to normal.

Just enjoy it while it lasts.

I have been working from home since 2008. There was manage shakeup just before covid and a hard push to coming into office that was resisted to a high degree. I literally can barely conceive going back to a fucking office everday...the idea is so distant it seems like going to prison

The collective demoralization of everyone having to actually drive and get stuck in traffic two hours a day while having to re-look at their co-workers every day was worth my vote for Biden.

Employers are shifting to WFH because they realized it saves them huge amounts of money from not having to rent office space. Even after corona there will be few office jobs.

yeah it's pretty common. I work for a big telecom company and apparently the old corporate dickhead came in, regionalized it (so a bunch of people lost their jobs if they wouldn't move) and then forced everyone into the office. However, everyone still worked from home I guess outside of the major office. He's gone now though and we got new corporate leadership in the last few months and he seems to be much more supportive of the work from home thing. They were mobilizing to return everyone back to work soon covid be damned. He pumped the breaks on it. Future is bright, but I'm still probably gonna jump ship eventually since I'd rather work in an office and make more money than work from home and make no money. I just have a small apartment so it kind of sucks to spend every day stuck in my room.

I’m mostly afraid about a mandatory vaccine for continued employment. My office is closed through Q2 of next year. Was already at only 2/5 days a week at the office so hoping 100% isn’t a problem. I actually love working in the office. I hope to go in at least three days a week once this is all over. It's far better than getting calls on Teams all fucking day. I've also found people are a lot more polite in person than they are behind the keyboard. They can't blow you off as easily if you can just walk over to their cubicle/office.

>> No.24327818

I've been thinking about refusing to go back also. I was going to give them a resignation letter if they force us to come back and use it as my bargaining chip. I'm a good employee, but not really vital to the company so I've been thinking about different ways to increase power on my side and just walk out if they refuse. I can't handle going back to my wage cage 5 days a week with a 1:45 total commute.

i had a strong suspicion i was talking to a retarded cuckhold, now it's been confirmed. i'm sorry you are too stupid to accomplish anything without your manager holding your hand, or without setting up a 1 hour meeting with the client so they can explain simple shit to your dumb ass. also no my company isn't "in a loss." i do far more than the audit, that's just my most communication intensive role and i do it 100% over email and teams calls without issue, on schedule. cope harder.

That role will obviously always be around in some capacity, but hopefully in the near future it will be reduced enough so junior associates who just received their first promotion that brag on an anonymous imageboard about anyone who thinks differently than them works a "bullshit job" and enjoys dressing up in their slacks and vest to go play a corporate charade to feel important from whining to them about someone "not being a team player" because they can see through the bullshit.

If you only lasted on year in public accounting, then you obviously sucked. No one worth a damn would leave before making senior. Thanks for confirming my suspicion.
