You find them at the top. I once knew the most kitted out throw barb on USWest. I had a deep knowledge of obscure item values and what to look for, and had already gotten rich as fuck on a ladder reset. Scavenging a cow run, I found an unidentified top-tier ethereal throwing weapon which turned out to do more damage than a maxed out breath of the dying.

It was worth enough to fully kit out three characters, but I just gave it to him, because why not? He was cool. He had a use for it. Among people at the top of their game, that's plenty.

If crypto hits my retirement number I've been thinking about making a game similar to Diablo 2 and dark souls. Same dark gothic style and medieval theme, same gameplay as dark souls, but with the leveling and itemization and skills from diablo. Where you start off weak, able to be killed fairly easily, but by end game you're flying to the end of the level, 1-hit killing mobs and destroying bosses in a few hits.

Played that a lot til brother laz quit. Guy who took over the project seems to be doing an amazing job tho.
Ive been playing the shit out of d2, but more of lone wolf style. Once I came out of noobie phase and figured out trade staples, builds etc I made a farm char (light sorc) and an uber runner (kicksin) for like 3 seasons in a row, always playing/farming/trading til I got infi/coh on sorc. At that point there's no reasonable goal anymore and it's just strict grinding and hormone rushes from the low% super rare drops. Then played a lot of classic cause the itemization is more interesting (rares are King, so you don't just equip the same items on every char). Then quit bnet altogether.
Still playing sp plugy on and off. Can finally play hc without having to deal with lag+I love collecting/hoarding items.
Overall it's always more interesting when it's a struggle, once i do all the problem solving, reaching the point where I can do anything with my setup and there's just minor improvements timegated by straight grinding, it loses the novelty and I quit. Wondering if/how that translates to my mental state and if there's an issue I haven't dealt with or if it's perfectly normal t b h

He golfed zealously for years and became rather talented. He would also bring a baggie of joints onto the course and offer them to other golfers. He would meet businessmen and local politicians which he would use to scout for clients. He would also donate to these same local politicians with consistent checks and receive invites to political dinners which he also used to scout for clients. He is booked out for the next 5+ years now and will never struggle with finding work as an independent contractor. He also has done client work for multiple lawyers and local officials and uses these connections to get around things like paying parking tickets or getting permits pushed through the slow bureaucracy.

Guess I didn't explain it well but it's similar to what I had in mind, I haven't played Nioh but it seems to lean more towards dark souls gameplay with some Diablo itemization and usually fighting 1 guy at a time, while I'd like to see a game lean more into Diablo gameplay in a 3d space.
I'm thinking initially with regular items at level 1 you're getting regular dark souls gameplay, but then as you level up you get increasingly overpowered skills/builds, dozens of abilities, until eventually you get players charging/flying/zooming/leaping through levels to get to the boss. Where late game you're able to wipe out packs of enemies instantly that initially would have easily swarmed and outmatched your character at early levels, or taken you a bit of time to mow through mid game. Combine that with the same kind of interesting itemization and monster affixes in Diablo 2, and a fairly open PvP interactions, and I think it has potential to be an amazing game.
