Honestly it doesn't matter much what specific indicators you use. Main thing is to pick a few and backtest them against the time frame you're interested in trading. Some will be okay, some will completely suck. Mess around with the settings on the okay ones to see if you can improve them a bit, remove some false signals. All I do is a moving average line as an above=good below=bad thing, a volume indicator like chaikin money flow, and a two line oscillator dealio in similar vein to macd. Create a series of rules for whatever assortment you pick, decide how you want to manage risk, whether or not you take incremental profits (you should!), how you want to do stop losses etc.
